Sharm el-Sheikh is a city of Egypt and an important port of trade and tourism at the southern tip of the Sinai desert.
Since 1985, this city is a very popular holiday destination (especially divers underwater enthusiasts who find a welcoming and a sea whose transparency is appreciated infrastructure).
The location of the city makes it a strategic position at the junction of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aqaba, hotly contested during the conflict between Israel and Egypt.
The resort of Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt is most famous for being the resort of former President of the Republic of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak; the latter there exile February 11, 2011 after having resigned from the Egyptian presidency, he held since 1981.
