Fehmarn is an island of Germany in the Baltic Sea along the coast of Schleswig-Holstein (depending District Ostholstein) which it is separated by a stretch of sea, the Fehmarnsund. It is located at about 18 km from the Danish island Lolland which it is separated by the Fehmarn Belt.
Today, the island has about 14,000 inhabitants in an area of 185 km2.

The largest town is Fehmarn, with 6000 inhabitants. There are also a few villages.
