Vigo is a city in the province of Pontevedra in Galicia (Spain). It is the largest city in Galicia, but is neither the capital of the autonomous community or provincial capital, and is the largest city in Spain that does not have the status of "capital," Chief instead of province.
It is located on the Atlantic Ocean and is the leading European fishing ports. The European Union, which established in April 2005 the Community Fisheries Control Agency, Community body with legal personality, chose Vigo to be the seat (OJ L128 of 21.05.2005).
