Valencia (València in Valencian / Catalan, Valencia in Spanish) is a city in Spain, located in the east of the country, on the Mediterranean coast. Founded in 138 BC. AD by the Roman consul Decimus Junius Brutus Callaicus under the name of Valentia Edetanorum, it is crossed by the river Turia.
Third largest city in terms of population, the capital of the Kingdom of Valencia in the Middle Ages, Valencia is now the capital of the Valencian Community and one of its three provinces, that of Valencia.
United citrus, Valencia is also famous for its falles (Fallas in Spanish) that progress annually from March 16 to 19.
