Melos or Milos is a Greek island in the Aegean Sea belonging to the Cyclades. The old form Milo, including the famous Venus de Milo is sometimes found.
Milos is located in the extreme southwest of the Cyclades archipelago, 120 km off the coast of Laconia. From west to east, it measures 23 km, against 12 km from north to south, with a total area of ''151 km ². Much of the island is covered by hills whose highest, Mount Prophet Elias, rises to 774 meters.
