Why go to the Virgin Islands by catamaran?
A catamaran charter in the Virgin Islands is a wonderful way to discover the assets of this archipelago with its deserted island landscapes at the end of the world. It comprises around a hundred islets in the Caribbean Sea, but only a few of the islands are inhabited. The Virgin Islands, discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1493, are the stuff of dreams for many sailors, as much for their scenery as for their legends. The islands are divided into three politically distinct groupings: the British Virgin Islands, to the east and north, are a British overseas territory. To the south, you will find the US Virgin Islands. Finally, the Spanish Virgin Islands, to the west, are part of Puerto Rico and are a free state associated with the United States.
The best places to sail
This archipelago is one of the best in the world for a catamaran cruise. Don't miss the island of Anegada, famous for its long white sandy beach. The coral reefs near this idyllic setting make it a favorite spot for diving enthusiasts. Let yourself be carried away by the total change of scenery that the island of Virgin Gorda offers. This natural pool is known for its geological formations called the Baths. A little island gem, perfect for recharging your batteries while hiking, discovering caves and swimming with the fish in crystal clear waters. When visiting the island of Jost Van Dyke, you can discover the exoticism of this former pirate hideout. Lazybones will head for the island of Tortola, which offers idyllic beaches. The opportunity to enjoy a good local meal while you're there.
Practical information about navigation
The Caribbean islands have a tropical climate, with warm temperatures all year round. The best time for a catamaran charter in the Virgin Islands is from December to February. Generally speaking, the winter months provide stable weather with continuous winds. We do not recommend the period from September to November, as it is prone to hurricanes. A catamaran charter in the Virgin Islands is ideal given the stability that the vessel provides on the water.
