Catamaran charter in Martinique with or without a skipper

Last updated on 24 February 2026

Why go on a catamaran in Martinique?

Martinique is the stuff of dreams, with its white sandy beaches and magnificent turquoise waters. The coral reef that rises up in the open sea only accentuates the charms of this Caribbean island. Catamaran charter in Martinique offers you the opportunity to explore the Caribbean at your own pace, always in a tropical atmosphere that is both exotic and invigorating. Set off from island to island on a stretch of sea with few other boats to discover enchanting sites.

The services offered:

  • Bareboat catamaran charter: this option allows you to rent a boat for a fixed period, generally by the day, week or month. You are then free to sail as you please and discover the wonders of Martinique in complete autonomy.
  • Catamaran charter with skipper: If you have little or no sailing experience or you simply want to spend a relaxing vacation, Filovent offers you the option of chartering your boat with a professional skipper. The skipper will know the sailing area and will show you some of the most beautiful places in the region.
  • Crewed catamaran charter: Many charter companies offer a wide range of additional services that you can book, such as fishing and diving equipment. You can also hire a crew if you wish, especially if you are chartering a large boat, which will generally include a captain, a cook and a hostess. The crew will take great care of you and make sure you have an unforgettable cruise!
  • Cabin cruise in Martinique: You can book a cabin on board a top-of-the-range, people-sized boat that you will share with a few other travelers and a crew that will take care of your every need.

When to go?

The sailing conditions in this part of the Caribbean are ideal for a catamaran cruise. You can discover all the treasures that Martinique has to offer at your leisure thanks to the weak tides and moderate currents that make anchorages easy. The prevailing wind in Martinique or Guadeloupe is called the "Alizés". This is a wind blowing from east to west reaching a maximum of 25 knots. However, beware of the hurricane season, which runs from June to November, and which can make the weather unstable. It is recommended to favor the dry period for serene navigation. In terms of infrastructure, the marina of Le Marin is an essential starting point with its services adapted to pleasure boaters.

Our advice for a successful yacht charter in Martinique

  • Familiarize yourself with local regulations: Before embarking on your sailboat charter, make sure you are familiar with the regulations in force in the region in terms of navigation zones in Martinique, anchorages or protected areas.
  • Documents and formalities: If you are the skipper of the boat, make sure you have a boat license to present. In addition, we strongly advise you to take out damage waiver insurance even if you hire a skipper: in the event of damage to the boat, you are directly responsible, and damage waiver protects you from any unintentional damage.
