Baltra Santa Cruz
MORNING: Arrival at Baltra Airport & Charles Darwin Research Station (Santa Cruz Island) Upon... see+ arrival, you will be met and assisted at the airport, then transferred from Baltra Airport to the ship. AFTERNOON: Charles Darwin Research Station and Highlands
In the afternoon, visit the Fausto Llerena Breeding Center, also known as the Charles Darwin Research Station. The center houses an interpretation center, a museum, a library, and a turtle breeding center, where various subspecies of turtles are kept and prepared for reintroduction.

After visiting the Charles Darwin Research Station, we head to the highlands of Santa Cruz, where you will have the opportunity to observe the famous giant tortoises in their natural habitat. These endemic animals are so renowned that they gave their name to the archipelago. Bird watching is also one of the activities to enjoy in the highlands of Santa Cruz, as this area is home to finches and other Galápagos birds.

Santa Cruz Post Office Bay Cormorant point
MORNING: Post Office Bay Experience an island tradition dating back to the 18th century, when... see+ whalers used a wooden barrel to exchange their mail—a custom you can still participate in today. Enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, or walking and swimming in a lava tunnel.

Activities and excursions: Walking Difficulty: Easy AFTERNOON: Cormorant Point Visit two contrasting beaches—one with green sand rich in olivine, and the other a white coral beach known as "Flour Beach," created by parrotfish over thousands of years.

A nearby saltwater lagoon is frequented by one of the largest populations of Galápagos flamingos in the archipelago, and is also home to stilts, pintails, and flycatchers.

Whether you choose to swim, snorkel, kayak, or paddleboard, the surrounding turquoise waters offer the perfect opportunity to observe marine life. In the open sea, Gardner and Osborn Islets are home to coral reefs teeming with tropical fish, rays, and playful sea lion pups—ideal for an exciting snorkeling adventure.

Its shallow saltwater lagoon provides a peaceful setting ideal for observing marine life and enjoying views of Kicker Rock from a unique point.

MORNING: Santa Fe Island Start your morning by disembarking on Santa Fe, one of the oldest islands... see+ in the Galápagos, known for its imposing forests of Opuntia cacti and distinctive pale yellow land iguanas. Hike along scenic trails that lead you through the island's arid landscape or into the highlands where these endemic iguanas bask in the sun. After your walk, cool off in the calm, crystal-clear waters of the bay—ideal for swimming or snorkeling alongside playful sea lions, rays, and colorful reef fish.

Its bright red and green Sesuvium ground cover contrasts dramatically with the island's black lava and tall skitter cacti. Here, you can often see swallow-tailed gulls, boobies, and other seabirds nesting or riding thermal currents above the crashing waves.

South Plaza Darwin Bay El Barranco
MORNING: Darwin Bay Disembark on the white coral beach of Darwin Bay, the only sandy landing site... see+ in the volcanic caldera of Genovesa. During breeding season, male frigates inflate their bright red throat pouches during elaborate courtship displays, while red-footed boobies perch on the branches of mangrove trees.

Activities and excursions: Hiking Difficulty: Moderate AFTERNOON: El Barranco (Prince Philip Steps) On the afternoon tour, discover El Barranco, also known as Prince Philip Steps, a rocky staircase that passes by a colony of Nazca boobies and red-footed boobies to a plateau of dried lava. Continuing through the sparse Palo Santo forest and looking out over the plain, visitors are often rewarded with the sight of ocean birds soaring above the ocean.

A Zodiac or kayak ride along the cliff offers a good chance to spot the elusive Galápagos fur seals nestled on the rocks, and snorkeling is a great activity if you want to swim with a variety of shark species.

El Barranco Sombrero Chino Dragon Hill
MORNING: Chinese Hat This picturesque islet in the open sea off the coast of Santiago Island is... see+ known for its striking lava formations.

With a maximum elevation of only 52 meters and easily accessible from Santa Cruz, the Chinese Cockscomb is usually only visited by those on the side of the boat on a Galápagos cruise and is renowned as one of the best snorkeling spots in the archipelago.

Activities: walking, snorkeling, kayaking Difficulty: Easy AFTERNOON: Dragon Hill (Santa Cruz Island) In the afternoon, you will head to Dragon Hill, located in the northwestern region of Santa Cruz Island. This visit offers guests the chance to explore the island by foot and observe the remarkable land iguanas—once nearly extinct, now thriving once again.

You will also encounter a saltwater lagoon home to flamingos, pintails, and a variety of endemic bird species such as flycatchers and warblers. A short hike leads to a stunning viewpoint at the top of the hill. Before returning to the yacht, enjoy a snorkeling session in the open sea in the surrounding waters.

Dragon Hill Caleta Tortuga Baltra
MORNING: Caleta Tortuga Negra (Black Turtle Cove) (Santa Cruz Island) After breakfast, you will... see+ explore Caleta Tortuga Negra (Black Turtle Cove), located along the northern coast of Santa Cruz Island. This site vividly demonstrates how mangroves shape the marine ecosystem, forming a unique and vibrant habitat. Three different species of mangroves extend from the shore deep into the water, stretching close-hauled a mile inland. As you glide silently through the calm waters on the side of a Zodiac, you may spot spotted eagle rays and mustard rays swimming gracefully in formation. Keep an eye out for white point reef sharks gliding beneath the surface and Pacific green turtles surfacing to breathe or mate. The area is also a haven for waterfowl, such as pelicans, herons, and egrets, all attracted to the creek's rich feeding grounds.

Activities and excursions: Zodiac ride Difficulty: Easy After this last visit, transfer to Baltra Airport for your return flight to mainland Ecuador. Assistance and farewell at the airport.
