Cairo is the capital of Egypt, also known as Umm al-Dunya (“Mother of the World”). It is the most populous city in Africa. Despite its somewhat dated appearance, which gives the impression of having traveled back in time, one quickly falls in love with the charm of Cairo and its people. The capital is the first stop on your journey through Egypt, as you discover its cultural treasures...

Tour of the Giza Plateau, a symbol of ancient Egypt, featuring the famous pyramids... see+ of:
Cheops (the largest, built around 2650 B.C.), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one to have withstood the test of time. For over 4,000 years, it was the tallest man-made monument, standing at 146 meters,
Khafre, the Pyramid of Khafre appears taller than that of Khufu; in reality, it is slightly shorter, but its steeper slope and its location on slightly higher ground create this illusion,
Mykerinos, the tomb of King Mykerinos, is much smaller than the other two pyramids, standing 66 meters tall.
The Sphinx (a lion with the head of a pharaoh), the enigmatic guardian of the tombs and the temple, faces east to protect the tombs from looters. It measures 73 meters long by 20 meters high and was carved from a single block of stone.
Lunch close to the pyramids.
Visit to the sites of Memphis and Saqqara.
Memphis was the capital of the Old Kingdom under the pharaohs. Today, it is nothing more than a palm grove where a few blocks, stelae, and statues lie, including an enigmatic alabaster sphinx.
Saqqara, a vast necropolis dotted with varied tombs, where you will discover King Djoser’s funerary complex with its step pyramid.

Breakfast on the side of the boat. Departure to cross the Nile and visit the Theban Necropolis. The... see+ Valley of the Kings, where you will visit two tombs of kings and one of a queen.
From the 18th dynasty onwards, and throughout the New Kingdom, the pharaohs were no longer buried in temples or monuments dedicated to their final journey. It was on the other side of the Nile, on the west bank, the land of the Afterlife, that Thutmose I and all the pharaohs who succeeded him decided to be buried. Gone were the colossal monuments such as the pyramids, and even the mastabas used during the Old Kingdom, replaced by tombs carved into the rock, whose entrances were carefully sealed and camouflaged. The main motivation was undoubtedly to escape tomb robbers.
OPTIONAL: Visit to the Temple of Medinet Habu (included in the "EXCURSION PACKAGE 1" package). Visit to the Temple of Medinet Habu. Medinet Habu is the Arabic name for the site that the Egyptians called Djémé. The funerary temple of Ramses III is the most accomplished example of monumental art under the Ramessids. The last great builder of ancient Egypt, the pharaoh undertook the reopening of the major construction sites abandoned since Ramses II, and built the vast royal temple of Medinet Habu, south of the Theban necropolis.
Ramses III had his Castle of Millions of Years built, the most significant complex of ancient Egyptian ruins after Karnak, on the site of one of the earliest centers of the Theban religion, closely associated with the cult of Amun. Stop at the Colossi of Memnon, the only funerary monuments of Amenhotep III.
Known for their imposing architecture, these ruins have been visited by emperors and travelers throughout the ages. Standing 18 meters tall and weighing 1,300 tons, they were named the Colossi of Memnon by the Greeks because of the legend of the Oracle of Memnon. Lunch on the side of the boat.
In the afternoon, sail towards Esna. Free time on the boat. Dinner and overnight stay on the side of the boat.

A tasty lunch will be served on board before you set off to discover the Ptolemaic Temple of Horus, one of the largest and best preserved in ancient Egypt. Its construction, which began in 237 BC under Ptolemy III and was completed in 57 BC under Ptolemy XII, took almost 180 years. Built on an ancient sanctuary dedicated to Thutmes III, this temple is dedicated to the cult of Horus, the falcon-headed god and son of Isis and Osiris. The monumental entrance is marked by a pylon decorated with impressive reliefs depicting the king interacting with the gods. Two majestic black granite falcons, symbols of Horus, guard the doors of the temple, offering a striking vision of the grandeur of Egyptian architecture.
Back on board, you will continue the cruise towards Kom Ombo. The evening will be punctuated by dinner on board and another night rocked by the waves of the Nile, in an atmosphere of serenity.

Kom Ombo Assouan
The day begins with breakfast on board, as your cruise reaches Kom Ombo, site of a unique temple. ... see+
Perched on a hill overlooking the Nile by 15 metres, the Ptolemaic Temple of Kom Ombo stands out for its exceptional architecture: it is the only temple in ancient Egypt to be dedicated to two deities. Built under the Ptolemaic dynasty on the remains of a New Kingdom sanctuary dedicated to Thutmose III, it honours both Haroeris, ‘Horus the Great’, and Sobek, the crocodile god. This duality is reflected throughout the structure: two separate entrances, two parallel corridors, symmetrical rooms leading to a double sanctuary. The temple's esplanade is adorned with brightly coloured sculpted columns, while to the right of the entrance, the chapel of Hathor houses astonishing crocodile mummies, testimony to the cult of Sobek.
After this fascinating visit, return on board for lunch before setting sail for Aswan, the last stop on your cruise. Take advantage of the afternoon to relax on the boat and contemplate the Nile. The day ends with dinner and a peaceful night on board, lulled by the waters of the sacred river.

Carved directly into the cliff, the Great Temple is dedicated to the god Amun-Re, Ramses himself, and Ptah, while the Temple of Hathor, dedicated to Queen Nefertari, offers a fascinating and unique atmosphere. Back on the side of the boat, lunch will be served before a free afternoon. After breakfast on board, you will dock at Luxor, the ancient Thebes, capital of Upper Egypt during... see+ the 18th Dynasty.
Your day will begin with a visit to the Temple of Karnak, one of the most impressive in ancient Egypt. Built over more than 2,000 years and enriched by great pharaohs, this sanctuary bears witness to the fervour dedicated to Amun-Ra. Its name, ‘Karnak’, meaning ‘fortress’, reflects the immensity of the site, with its sculpted columns and majestic hypostyle halls.
You will then discover a workshop for sculpting alabaster, used in Antiquity for ointment vases, canopic vases and even windows thanks to its beautiful transparency.
As an option, visit Luxor Temple, dedicated to Amun-Ra and the Opet ceremonies. Built under Amenhetep III and Ramses II, it stands out for its imposing pylon and colossi. Its second obelisk, donated to France in 1831, now stands on the Place de la Concorde.
