Luxor Esna El Hegz
Breakfast, followed by the start of the cruise to Esna. Upon arrival, visit the Temple of Esna,... see+ dedicated to Khnum and Neith. Construction of this temple began under Ptolemy VIII and was completed during the Roman period, under the reigns of Claudius and Marcus Aurelius. The temple, still partially buried, is situated on a site 10 meters lower than the rest of the city. Return to the boat for lunch, then continue the cruise to El Hegz Island, where the boat will stop for the night. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

El Hegz Edfou Bassaw
Breakfast, then sail to Edfu. Upon arrival, take a horse-drawn carriage ride to the Temple of... see+ Horus, located further inland. This sanctuary dedicated to the falcon god Horus is both the largest temple of the Ptolemaic dynasty and the second largest in Egypt, after Karnak. Inside, the intact paintings, inscriptions, and reliefs make it the best-preserved temple in Egypt. After the visit, return to the boat for lunch, then continue the cruise to Bassaw Island, where the boat will stop for the night. Free time to explore the island and dinner on the riverbank. Overnight on board.

Bassaw Gebel Silsileh Kom Ombo Assouan
Breakfast, then departure for a tour of Gebel Silsileh, both an archaeological site and Egypt’s... see+ largest sandstone quarry. Placed under the protection of the god Hapy, this quarry supplied the sandstone for nearly all the temples of Upper Egypt. On the west bank of the river stands a sanctuary carved into the rock, dedicated to the god Horemheb and seven other deities, including the local god Sobek.

Lunch on board and a walking tour of the ancient quarry before continuing the cruise to Kom Ombo. Dedicated to two deities—Sobek the crocodile to the south and Horus the falcon to the north—the temple features perfectly symmetrical architecture. Built on a hill by three Ptolemies, the Kom Ombo complex is surrounded by a perimeter wall covered in reliefs.

Return to the boat to continue upriver to Aswan for dinner. Overnight on board.

Breakfast on board and early morning arrival in Aswan. Visit the Temple of Philae, located on... see+ Agilkia Island, one of Egypt’s most beautiful sanctuaries. Begun during the reign of Pharaoh Nectanebo I in the 30th Dynasty and completed by the Romans, it is the principal sanctuary dedicated to Isis.

After Philae, the tour continues with a visit to the High Dam and the unfinished obelisk. The Aswan region, rich in schist, alabaster, and pink granite—found only in this part of Egypt—provided the stone blocks used for the pyramids, statues, and colossal figures built by the pharaohs. In the granite quarry stands the largest obelisk known to date (41.75 m), the construction of which was abandoned due to a crack in the rock.

Return to the boat for lunch. Optional: sound-and-light show at the Temple of Philae in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Breakfast and a free morning in town. Optional: bus or plane tours to visit the temples of Abu... see+ Simbel, built by Ramses II. Return to Aswan for lunch before continuing the cruise to Luxor via Esna, where you will arrive late at night. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Breakfast, then departure by bus for a tour of the Theban Necropolis on the west bank of the Nile,... see+ followed by the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens, where the tombs of many New Kingdom pharaohs are located, along with those of their families and favored nobles.

The tour continues with the Colossi of Memnon, the last remaining vestiges of the temple of Amenhotep III, and Deir el-Bahari, the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Carved directly into the rock of the Theban Mountain, this three-terrace temple, built in 1455 BC, is both harmonious and monumental. Although dedicated to the god Amun, it also features chapels dedicated to Anubis and Hathor, the goddess who protects women.

Return to the dahabieh for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the southern part of ancient Thebes on the east bank of the Nile, where the temples of Karnak and Luxor are located. The two temples are connected by a dromos, a long avenue lined with sphinxes, and are dedicated to Amun.

In the evening, optional sound-and-light show at the Temple of Karnak. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

After lunch at a traditional restaurant, you’ll enter the world of “Absolute Grandeur”: the Giza Plateau, a symbol of ancient Egypt with its pyramids of Khufu—the largest of the pyramids and the last of the Seven Wonders of the World—Khafre and his pink granite temple, and Menkaure, flanked by the pyramids of the queens. The complex is guarded by the famous Sphinx of Giza, the world’s largest monolithic sculpture.

Dahabiehs are traditional sailing boats that navigate primarily under sail. When wind conditions do not permit it, or on certain stretches of the Nile, the boat may be towed at a distance (approximately 30 m) by a small tugboat, as dahabiehs do not have engines

Unfinished obelisk
The Unfinished Obelisk of Aswan is an impressive remnant located in an ancient granite quarry in Upper Egypt. Commissioned during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut, it was intended to be the largest obelisk ever constructed, reaching about 42 meters in height and... see+ weighing an estimated 1,200 tons. However, a crack that appeared during the carving process halted the work, leaving the monument incomplete and still attached to the bedrock.
Today, the site provides a unique insight into the working methods of ancient Egyptian stonecutters. Visitors can observe extraction techniques, tool marks, and the monumental logistics involved in creating such structures.
