Francfort Wertheim
Where the Tauber River flows into the Main River lies the small town of Wertheim. Beautiful... see+ half-timbered houses characterize the market square. Among the town's sights is the parish church, which dates back to the Gothic period. Inside, the Counts of Wertheim, who ruled here from the 15th to the 18th century, found their final resting place.
Other tourist attractions include the Glass Museum and a majestic castle perched on a hill overlooking the town.

Dominating Sandstrasse is Bamberg's Romanesque cathedral, dedicated to St. Peter and St. George. It is nicknamed the Imperial Cathedral because it houses the tombs of Emperor Henry II and Empress Cunegonde. The cathedral also contains the only papal tomb north of the Alps.

Hassfurt / Zeil am Main: history and architecture
Your tour begins with a scenic bus ride to Bamberg, through the beautiful Franconian countryside, to one of Germany’s most architecturally rich cities.

Upon arrival in Bamberg, the coach takes you directly to the city’s modern concert hall, home to the... see+ renowned Bamberg Symphony—Bavarian State Philharmonic. From this contemporary setting, your guided walking tour begins and takes place entirely in the historic heart of the city.

The first stop is the imposing Bamberg Cathedral (Dom), dedicated to Saints Peter and George. With its four majestic towers and Romanesque grandeur, it is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Weather permitting, a tour of the cathedral’s richly decorated interior will be included.

The tour continues around Domplatz, where centuries of architectural history come to life. Points of interest include the Alte Hofhaltung, a former episcopal residence with medieval charm, and the 17th-century Neue Residenz, renowned for its elegant halls and magnificent Rosengarten, offering a peaceful view over the rooftops of Bamberg.

A highlight of the excursion is a visit to the historic Wurstkuchl, located on the banks of the Danube and in operation for over 500 years. In the past, stonemasons, dockworkers, and boatmen came here to eat—and many traditions are still alive today.

Enjoy homemade sausages made from pure pork, as well as the Wurstkuchl's famous mustard, made according to Elsa Schricker's original recipe. This excursion combines history and culinary delights for a truly unforgettable experience.
