Overlooking the Danube, Melk Abbey is one of the finest examples of Counter-Reformation Baroque architecture. Visit the abbey and explore its gardens. Wine tasting in the restaurant's cellars. Sailing at 1pm and lunch on board. Sailing through the exceptional landscapes of the Wachau, a steep region before Vienna, where the meandering Danube offers a parade of lush greenery. Visit the palace and stroll through the gardens of the “Viennese Versailles”, summer residence of the Habsburgs. It houses splendid state rooms and, together with its gardens, constitutes one of the best-preserved Baroque ensembles in Europe.

Art Nouveau Vienna and the Leopold Museum (half-day)
In the 1900s, Vienna was marked by Art Nouveau. The tour begins with a visit to various monuments emblematic of this movement: the Post Office Savings Bank, the Museum of Applied Arts, the Medallion House and the Majolica House. Stop at Karlsplatz, with Otto Wagner's famous subway station. Walk to the Secession, a modern exhibition building in the Art Nouveau style. Followed by a visit to the Leopold Museum. Located in the MuseumsQuartier, it houses unique treasures of Viennese Art Nouveau, including the world's largest collection of works by Egon Schiele and paintings by Gustav Klimt.

Late morning arrival in Budapest. The majestic course of the Danube divides the city into two... see+ cities: Buda with its hills and valleys, whose panoramic view of the river banks is a Unesco World Heritage Site, and Pest with its plain where Hungary's historic capital comes alive. Lunch on board. In the afternoon, departure for the Pest side of the city, with a visit to the Opera House, the Bois de Ville and Heroes' Square. Private concert at the Liszt Museum. Dinner on board.

Budapest Esztergom
In the morning, continue your tour of Budapest's Buda side. Stroll through the Castle district to... see+ the Fishermen's Bastion. This bastion with its seven towers celebrates the seven Hungarian tribes who founded the nation in the 9th century. Visit the richly-decorated interior of Matthias Church, home to the Loreto Chapel, whose virgin is particularly venerated. Lunch on board. Afternoon at leisure or disembark for optional excursion. In the early afternoon, the ship sails back to Esztergom. Piano recital on board.

The Danube Bend (half-day)
Departure for the artisan village of Szentendre. With its narrow streets, old churches and towers, remnants of a vanished fortress, it's one of Hungary's most visited places. Stroll through the village, with its many craft stores. Continue on to Visegrad. The fortress, built on a hill, offers a breathtaking view of the Danube and its valley. Then on to Esztergom, former residence of the rulers of Hungary and current residence of the archbishopric. Visit the Christian Museum, one of Hungary's most important museums. Founded by Cardinal Archbishop János Simor, it features Gothic and Renaissance paintings, as well as works by the great masters of the Italian Renaissance.

Visit the Primatial Palace, Slovakia's largest neo-classical building, where Napoleon signed the Treaty of Presburg after the victory of Austerlitz. Private concert at the Primatial Palace.
