Optional excursion common to both packages: Guided tour of Budapest. Budapest reveals its splendor... see+ around the Danube. The architecture designed by man century after century has given rise to Baroque, Neoclassical and Art Nouveau buildings. Take a panoramic tour of the hills of Buda and the plains of Pest... Then along the river to admire the Parliament building overlooking the Danube. Return on board to Esztergom.
Afternoon at leisure to explore Esztergom. Set on a hill, the city lies peacefully on the banks of the Danube. The town has many unsuspected treasures, including the elegant basilica, whose 177-meter-high silhouette dominates the river, and the historic center of colorful houses. In the evening, sail to Vienna.

Morning sailing along the Danube Alluvial Meadows National Park, the wildest part of the Danube, a... see+ veritable oasis between Bratislava and Vienna. Arrival in Vienna in the early afternoon.
Optional authentic excursion / experience : visit to the Hofburg. Located in the historic heart of Vienna, the Hofburg is an astonishing sight. It exudes the sense of excess and splendor associated with imperial power. Nevertheless, it is a fascinating place for history and architecture enthusiasts. Today, the imperial apartments house the "Sissi" museum, where the seductive empress has become a cult figure adored by all.
In the evening, optional authentic excursion / experience : discover Vienna "by night". A veritable open-air museum, you'll discover the capital in all its glory. The illuminated facades reveal all their splendor. The Musikverein takes on a whole new dimension under these illuminations, the opera house reveals its interior decor thanks to light effects, and on Schwarzenbergplatz you'll see the gilded bronze statue of Johann Strauss, as well as many other monuments, such as the Hofburg Palace and the Augustinian Church. You'll love this other side of Vienna.

- Authentic : visit Schoenbrunn Palace and take a panoramic tour of Vienna. A... see+ prestigious court center in the 18th century, the castle's ochre facade is closely linked to the dual Austro-Hungarian monarchy. The splendid edifice is home to eminently refined imperial furnishings, and the spirit of the Habsburgs watches over the dazzling residence. Then take a panoramic tour of the famous boulevard known as "the Ring". You'll see the exceptional monuments built between 1830 and 1890 that give it its unique atmosphere.
- Experience : experience Vienna as the Viennese do. Go behind the scenes at the Konzerthaus. You'll discover one of Vienna's most important concert venues, the famous Konzerthaus. Inaugurated in 1913 by Emperor Franz Joseph, the Konzerthaus has since evolved from tradition and innovation to become one of the most popular venues for musical ensembles (a visit to the Konzerthaus may be replaced by a visit to the Musikverein, or the opera house in the event of performances or unavailability). Then it's off to one of the city's many cafés for a cup of Viennese coffee. You'll have to go back to imperial times to discover its origins. In harsh winters, carriage drivers used to drink a hot cup of coffee topped with whipped cream between each run, to keep them going. The "coachman's coffee" or "Einspänner" was later called Viennese coffee outside Austria.

Afternoon at leisure OR optional out-of-package excursion: horse-drawn carriage tour of Vienna. A fun and original way to see Vienna. Let the rhythm of the horses guide you through the city, plunging you into the heart of its history. The coachman will lead you through the narrow streets of the Austrian capital to admire the magnificent Baroque buildings that adorn certain districts.

In the evening, optional excursion authentic / experience : Viennese music concert (optional and subject to availability). In a legendary Viennese venue, enjoy some of the finest works by Mozart and Strauss, and let yourself be transported to the rhythm of waltzes, polkas, arias... Departure from the ship at midnight.

A tour of the most beautiful part of the Wachau. This landscape, shaped by the Danube, is a UNESCO... see+ World Heritage Site and Austria's oldest cultural region. The valley stretches for some 30 kilometers and is one of the most beautiful in Europe. Arrival in Melk in the early morning.

Optional authentic excursion / experience : discover Dürnstein, a small medieval town listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its architectural heritage. The village is packed with sights, including the elegant baroque bell tower of the Dürnstein church, the medieval and Renaissance facades of the town hall and the colorful houses in the main alley.

In the afternoon, optional authentic excursion / experience : visit Melk Abbey. A masterpiece of Gothic architecture, the abbey dominates the splendid Wachau valley. The ochre color of the grandiose façade is reminiscent of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. The abbey's interior also boasts magnificent Baroque frescoes and a library containing some 100,000 volumes, including some of the most precious manuscripts of the Middle Ages. Return on board and sail to Passau. The river meanders through villages with bulbous steeples, picturesque houses and legendary fortresses. Evening entertainment.

In the morning, discover Passau with the animation team. The city of three rivers stretches along... see+ the Danube, offering visitors an immense range of treasures. The Italian masters who rebuilt the city after the great fires of the 17th century have left their mark on the city's architectural decor. Picturesque alleyways such as Höllgasse, the artists' street, invite you to stroll through the old town of Baroque patrician houses. Return on board and set sail for Regensburg. Enjoy the scenery of the Danube as it meanders and loops. Night sailing.

Optional authentic excursion / experience : visit Regensburg and climb to the famous Walhalla. At... see+ the gateway to eastern Bavaria, Regensburg is an open-air museum. The medieval old town is Germany's only preserved large medieval city. Take a trip back to the golden age of the 12th and 13th centuries. You'll see the Gothic cathedral, towers of patrician houses that complete a unique and authentic medieval canvas, and the Walhalla, a Greek temple-like paradise of Germanic legends. This imposing pantheon, dedicated to the great men of Germany, dominates a bend in the Danube, some ten kilometers from Regensburg. Return on board to Kelheim. Navigation on the Rhine/Main/Danube Canal to Nuremberg. 70 years of work were needed to open this important link between the two rivers.

Early morning arrival in Würzburg.
Optional authentic excursion/experience : visit Würzburg and... see+ the Residenz. The starting point of Germany's Romantic Road, Würzburg is undoubtedly one of Bavaria's most beautiful cities. Its city center is overflowing with magnificent churches and palaces, reminders of its past grandeur. It was in this exceptional setting that the film "The Three Musketeers" was shot. You'll also visit the Residence, built in the 18th century by the architect Balthasar Neumann, and today considered one of the most beautiful castles in Bavaria. Return to Karlstadt and sail to Wertheim.
