But you'll also love discovering a more secretive Venice, losing yourself in its labyrinth of alleys and canals, strolling through its squares and pushing open the doors of its churches. But don't forget to satisfy your taste buds with a glass of spritz and some tramezzini.

Rovinj is located in Istria, bordering Slovenia. You'll... see+ have the chance to see for yourself as you stroll through the old town's cobbled streets. It is adorned with Venetian-influenced monuments. You'll certainly notice this when you set eyes on the arch of Balbi the winged lion, the symbol of Venice, and the campanile erected next to the cathedral of St. Euphemia. From the top, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the historic quarter. To soak up its picturesque atmosphere, walk along the ochre and sepia-toned alleyways to lively squares with terraces shaded by canvas awnings.

The ancient walled city of Zadar stands on a... see+ peninsula in northern Dalmatia. It has existed since antiquity, as evidenced by the ruins of the Roman forum. Adjacent to these remains is the Byzantine church of St. Donatus, while the campanile of St. Anastasia's cathedral has an Italian influence. Your strolls through the old town will be punctuated by encounters with history. As you head for the seafront, you'll come face to face with the present, as the shoreline is brought to life by two contemporary creations. Perhaps you'll be able to hear the sea organs echoing with the surf and see the Salute to the Sun reflecting the rays of light.

Zadar Primošten Split

Located south of Sibenik, Primosten is a picturesque... see+ village on the Dalmatian coast, whose charm is distilled through narrow streets, pretty stone houses and an architectural heritage influenced by the Republic of Venice. Built on a rocky peninsula, the historic town was linked to the mainland by a movable bridge, which gave it its name in the 16th century: in Croatian, primostiti means “to build a bridge”. The village's highest point, the Church of St. Juraj, looks out over the enchanting bay and its crystal-clear waters, while to the north of the peninsula, the charming beach of Raduca lies between azure waters and pine forests. In the distance, the vines of the renowned babic grape variety, protected from erosion by low stone walls, complete this idyllic setting.

On the Dalmatian coast, Split offers cultural visits in a seaside atmosphere. Close to the palm-shaded seafront, the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, reveals a unique ensemble: Diocletian's Palace. You'll discover a series of galleries, courtyards with sculpted columns, and a former mausoleum converted into a church: Saint Domnius Cathedral. If you'd like to relax and enjoy a delicious meal, stop off at Pjaca, the old town's main square, and enjoy a palacinka, a pancake au gratin, on the terrace.

Off the coast of Split, Hvar will surprise you... see+ with its traditions dating back to antiquity. This Dalmatian island is said to be home to the country's oldest town, Stari Grad: a city nestled in a cove on the northwest coast and surrounded by agrarian dry-stone estates. These estates are listed as Unesco World Heritage Sites for their layout, which dates back to Greek times. Their crops produce artisanal wines and olive oil. In the hills above the town, you can meet local producers of ham and cheese.

Hvar Korcula Mljet

The charm of this harbor town lies in its location: it... see+ stands on a promontory on the northeast coast of the island of Korcula. The fortifications of its medieval quarter offer beautiful views of the Pelješac peninsula. To get there, you can climb the monumental staircase of the Revelin Tower. Another itinerary: the palm-shaded steps of the Sea Gate. The bell tower of St. Mark's Cathedral is just around the corner. This emblem of the city makes it easy to spot the nearby residence where Marco Polo is said to have been born. The island is also home to renowned wines such as red Plavac and white Posip.

Built between the 12th and 14th centuries, Kotor is a Unesco World Heritage Site, with many of its historic monuments preserved from that era. During your stopover, don't fail to admire the impressive castle that dominates the town, and let yourself be seduced by its labyrinth of narrow streets and picturesque squares, often the setting for folk festivals featuring magnificent, colorful costumes.
