Authentic: guided tour of the Doge's Palace. Also known as the... see+ Palazzo Ducale, the Doge's Palace is one of Venice's most emblematic buildings. Built in the 11th century as the residence and seat of government of the Republic of Venice, it is renowned for its imposing architecture and richly ornate interior decoration. Stroll through the rooms of the palace, admiring paintings by Tintoretto and Veronese, then cross the famous Bridge of Sighs to reach the "prison". Built in the 16th century, it was used to take prisoners from the courtroom to the dungeon. From the balconies and windows, you'll also enjoy splendid views of the Serenissima and its canals. After the tour, enjoy free time to explore St. Mark's Square.
Experience Venetian handicrafts. As you wander through the narrow streets of Venice, you'll discover some magical places. For centuries, the city has been home to a wide range of handicrafts, only a few of which have survived to the present day. You'll plunge into the heart of Venetian craftsmanship with a visit to a "squero" or shipyard, where the Serenissima's gondolas are still built, repaired and maintained today. From structure to oars, ornaments and decorative carvings, many craftsmen must work together and combine their talents and special skills to create unique pieces so that every gondolier can stroll the canals of Venice. Then, during a visit to a mask-making workshop, you'll discover the secrets and meanings of these symbols of the city and its Carnival. Considered jewels for their beauty and refinement, they are generally made from materials such as papier-mâché, straw, fabric and leather, and decorated with elements such as paint, pearls, precious stones or metal ornaments. Among the most famous masks, you may recognize the Doctor of the Plague, the Bauta, as well as characters from the Commedia Dell Arte, such as Harlequin, Pantaloon and Columbine.
Afternoon at leisure in Venice. Take time to discover or rediscover the world's most romantic city, and reach the Rialto, the city's emblematic bridge over the Grand Canal. From the bridge, you'll have a breathtaking view of the canal and the historic buildings that surround it.

Mazzorbo Venice Burano Mazzorbo
Morning cruise in the Venetian lagoon. From the sun deck, you'll gaze at the silhouettes of... see+ churches and palaces silhouetted against the horizon. At the heart of this labyrinth of canals and islands, you'll enjoy a unique experience as you admire the scenery and the ballet of the many boats using the channels. You'll reach the island of Mazzorbo, linked by a pedestrian bridge to the charming island of Burano.
Free time to explore the island of Burano. Just a few minutes' walk from the boat, you'll stroll through the heart of this island, famous the world over for its lace, but also for the magnificent little colorful houses that line the canals of this fishing village. Mid-afternoon, optional authentic excursion/experience: wine tasting at the Venissa estate. The island of Mazzorbo harbors a well-kept secret: the vines of the Dorona variety, from which Gianluca Bisol and his son Matéo make their Venissa wine. It was while walking on the island of Torcello some 15 years ago that Gianluca Bisol spotted a few vines in a garden near the cathedral that were about to be uprooted by the owner. He had a strong intuition and asked to have a vine of this variety analyzed before it was uprooted. The result was a revelation for Gianluca: it was the last 150 vines of Dorona, the little golden grape (hence its name) whose white wine was served at the banquets of the Doges of Venice in the past, and which would die out and disappear for good in the days to come. The Bisol family has revived Dorona, a rare, unique and precious wine that inherits its traditions from ancient Venice.
Free evening in Mazzorbo. Discover the timeless atmosphere of this small island, far from the hustle and bustle of the Serenissima.

Authentic: visit Padua, city of Saint Anthony. A city of art and science, Padua is a must-see in the Veneto region. The city extends around the medieval heart, dotted with palaces and charming squares such as the piazza delle Erbe and the Prato della Valle, a vast square surrounded by canals and a double row of statues. You'll visit the Basilica of St. Anthony, whose majestic edifice reveals a strong influence from St. Mark's Basilica in Venice, while its slender apse and nine radiating chapels are Gothic in style.
Experience: Palladian villas. The Palladian villas were built along the Brenta canal as secondary residences for the aristocrats who lived in the Serenissima Republic. These sumptuous villas, the work of famous architects and decorated with frescoes by exceptional painters, developed the "vacation" phenomenon between the 15th and 16th centuries. Departure by coach for a panoramic tour of this region, followed by a visit to Villa Pisani, a magnificent villa famous for its beauty and the majesty of its park with fountains and pools, or La Malcontenta, designed by Palladio.

Meet the guides at the boat. The tour will begin with a historical and artistic introduction to Venice at St. Mark's Square, followed by a visit to the famous St. Mark's Cathedral (exterior). The Byzantine-style facades of the cathedral (one of the most... see+ magnificent in the world) will immediately catch your attention. It was originally built in the 9th century to house the body of St. Mark, the patron saint of Venice. Only a few traces of the original structure remain, and the monument in its current state dates from the 12th, 14th, and 15th centuries. The exterior, with its domes, pinnacles, and wooden horses, contrasts with the sparkling gold mosaics of the interior. The tour continues with the Doge's Palace, residence of the Dukes of Venice and seat of the Venetian government from the 9th century until the fall of the Republic in 1797. Although there are no traces of the 9th-century Byzantine structures, the current palace, richly decorated both inside and out, dates from the 14th century and is considered by many to be the most beautiful in the world. A visit to the top of the famous golden staircase will allow you to admire paintings by Tintoretto and Veronese, stroll through the large council chamber and walk out onto the pulpit, where you can enjoy a magnificent view. You will cross the famous decorated footbridge, the Bridge of Sighs, which leads to the prison. The deck, once known as the image of the fate it accorded prisoners, is now a symbol of romanticism. Return to the side of the boat on foot. NOTES Comments on St. Mark's Cathedral will be given outside, as they are not permitted inside. Passengers may enter the cathedral during their free time. Proper attire is required. Expect long lines. Wear comfortable walking shoes: the tour is entirely on foot. There are many steps to climb at the Doge's Palace. The order of visits may be changed.
