Arrival in Tromsø, the gateway to the Norwegian Arctic and one of the most iconic cities of the... see+ Far North. Boarding is scheduled for late afternoon, around 6:00 PM. Once you’ve settled in, enjoy a welcome dinner in a warm and friendly atmosphere as the ship sets sail into the heart of the Arctic landscape. Depending on weather conditions and the season, the first Northern Lights may already be lighting up the sky, offering an unforgettable spectacle right from the start of the expedition.

The day is dedicated to exploring Tromsø, nicknamed the “Paris of the North” for its lively... see+ atmosphere, vibrant student life, and rich cultural heritage. As you stroll through its historic neighborhoods with their charming colorful wooden houses, you’ll discover a city where Nordic traditions and a spirit of polar adventure blend harmoniously.
Tromsø holds a major place in the history of Arctic exploration, having served as the starting point for many great expeditions to the Far North. Monuments, museums, and historic sites pay tribute to famous polar explorers, including Roald Amundsen, an iconic figure in the conquest of the polar regions.
The cruise then continues along the inland sea route, offering magnificent views of fjords, snow-capped mountains, and the coastal villages typical of northern Norway.

Tromso Andenes Trollfjord Sortland
The voyage continues through the heart of the magnificent Lofoten Islands, an iconic archipelago in... see+ northern Norway renowned for its spectacular landscapes, where rugged mountains, traditional fishing villages, and wild fjords blend together to create a unique atmosphere. The jagged coastline and colorful little harbors offer breathtaking views throughout the crossing.
Heading toward Andenes, the ship approaches the famous Bleik Trench, a deep-sea area particularly conducive to whale watching. These nutrient-rich waters regularly attract whales and sperm whales, making this region one of Norway’s best spots for observing large marine wildlife in its natural habitat. With a little luck, this cruise will offer the chance to spot these impressive giants of the sea swimming in Arctic waters.
Located more than 300 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle, Andenes is a small fishing town with a population of about 1,500, considered one of the gateways to the Lofoten Islands and renowned for its rich marine life. Known in particular for the regular presence of sperm whales and other cetaceans, Andenes is today one of Norway’s best sites for whale watching. Overlooking the coastline, the historic lighthouse built in 1859 remains an iconic landmark for ships approaching from the open sea.
The cruise then continues toward the spectacular Trollfjord, famous for its extremely narrow passages flanked by steep mountains rising to over 1,000 meters in elevation. In this majestic and wild setting, the rocky cliffs seem to plunge directly into the deep waters of the fjord, offering an impressive cruising experience in the heart of northern Norway’s most iconic landscapes.
The day ends in Sortland, in the heart of the magnificent landscapes of Vesterålen.

Sortland Nusfjord Leknes
The day takes you to the heart of the Lofoten Islands to explore the charming village of Nusfjord,... see+ considered one of the most beautiful and authentic hamlets in the archipelago. Protected for its exceptional heritage, Nusfjord is famous for its iconic “rorbuer,” traditional fishermen’s huts listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Now largely converted into charming lodgings, they bear witness to the region’s rich maritime past and the way of life of the Lofoten fishing communities.
Surrounded by steep mountains plunging into the calm waters of the fjord, the village exudes a peaceful and timeless atmosphere. A small museum and historic buildings offer a glimpse into the era when cod fishing shaped local life, while the large fish-drying racks still visible today serve as a reminder of the importance of this activity in the development of the Lofoten Islands.
The cruise then continues to Leknes, set amid spectacular scenery that blends rugged peaks, wild beaches, and the colorful villages typical of northern Norway.

Leknes Reine
The journey continues to Reine, undoubtedly one of the most iconic villages in the Lofoten Islands.... see+ Nestled at the head of a spectacular bay surrounded by steep peaks plunging into the sea, Reine offers some of Norway’s most famous and photogenic landscapes. This traditional village remains deeply rooted in the history of fishing, an activity that still shapes local life. The famous red rorbu cabins, former fishermen’s huts built right on the water’s edge, add to the unique charm of this Arctic setting.
In the open sea, the islands of Røst and Værøy rise from the heart of the ocean and are home to exceptional wildlife. These isolated lands serve as a privileged refuge for numerous seabirds, including puffins and sea eagles, which can be observed on the cliffs and above the fish-rich waters. In this region where fishing remains ever-present, several hundred boats still operate in the open sea, carrying on the maritime traditions that have shaped the identity of the Lofoten Islands for centuries.

Reine Henningsvær Svolvaer
The day begins with a tour of Henningsvær, one of the most picturesque villages in the Lofoten... see+ Islands. Spread across a multitude of small rocky islets connected by bridges, this charming fishing port is surrounded by a spectacular backdrop of mountains rising to nearly 1,000 meters. With its colorful houses, cod drying racks, and lively little harbors, Henningsvær retains all the authenticity of northern Norway’s maritime traditions.
Free time to stroll through this uniquely charming village, explore its art galleries and cafés, and enjoy the magnificent panoramic views of the fjords and surrounding peaks.
The cruise then continues to Svolvær, considered the capital of the Lofoten Islands. This lively little town blends a port atmosphere, local culture, and spectacular scenery. At the end of the day, we resume the superb inland coastal route, enhanced by the changing evening light that envelops the fjords and mountains in a particularly magical atmosphere.
