Vestfjord Svartisen
We’ll sail through the Vestfjord, which separates the Lofoten archipelago from mainland Norway,... see+ to reach the extraordinary Karisoyvaer archipelago, then we’ll disembark in Glomfjord for a walk to Lake Svartisen and the Svartisen Glacier. The ice cap—the second largest in the country at 370 km²—flows into the lake via the Engabreen Glacier, offering a magnificent spectacle near the Arctic Circle.

Reine Bay is a spectacular spot in the Lofoten Islands, known for its scenery and fishing... see+ traditions. Hiking and Zodiac excursions. In the afternoon, we’ll head out to the offshore islands of Rost and Vaerøy, home to puffins and sea eagles. Nearly 600 boats fish in the open sea near these islands, which are scattered across reefs and archipelagos.

This voyage offers exceptional views of the rugged coastlines and wild landscapes of northern Norway. As you approach the Lofoten Islands, the steep mountains plunging into the sea and the picturesque fishing villages create a scene that is emblematic of the archipelago. Further north, near Andenes, the ship sails along the waters of the famous Bleik Trench, one of Europe’s best sites for whale watching. With a little luck, you may spot sperm whales, humpback whales, or minke whales swimming in these nutrient-rich waters. This day at sea is a true highlight, combining breathtaking landscapes with encounters with the Arctic’s iconic wildlife.

Head to the majestic Lyngen Alps, a spectacular mountain range dominated by jagged peaks and more... see+ than 140 small glaciers that plunge down toward the fjords. This magnificent setting is one of the most beautiful landscapes in northern Norway. The region’s fjords are renowned for their exceptional marine biodiversity. Depending on the season, they host large groups of orcas that come to hunt schools of herring, sometimes creating scenes of rare intensity. Other cetaceans, such as humpback whales, also frequent these Arctic waters. This day is dedicated to wildlife viewing, in an environment where mountains, glaciers, and fjords combine to offer an unforgettable natural spectacle.

Your expedition ends in Tromsø, one of the major cities in northern Norway, located beyond the... see+ Arctic Circle. After a final cruise along the spectacular coastline of Nordland, the ship berths in the morning. Disembarkation is scheduled for around 9 a.m. It is then time to leave the ship, enriched by unforgettable memories: majestic fjords, fishing villages, encounters with Arctic wildlife, and breathtaking landscapes will have marked this adventure in the heart of the Far North.
