Longyearbyen Isfjorden
Direct flight from Paris to Longyearbyen, the capital of Spitsbergen. Upon arrival, you will... see+ immediately feel the unique atmosphere of the Arctic, surrounded by sculpted mountains and unique polar light. At the end of the day, board the ship, settle into your cabin, and meet the crew. First voyage into Isfjord, the majestic gateway to the archipelago.

Isfjorden Smeerenburgfjorden
We set course for Smeerenburg, a fjord famous among 17th-century whalers and a true witness to the... see+ first great polar expeditions. The remains of this bygone era still stand in a spectacular setting of sharp, frost-carved mountains and glaciers whose fronts collapse into the sea with a deafening roar. The region is rich in wildlife: walruses on the beaches or on drifting ice, seals resting close-hauled to the glacier fronts, and sometimes even polar bears on the prowl, the iconic silhouette of the Arctic. An immersive day in the heart of one of the most beautiful wilderness areas of Spitsbergen.

Smeerenburgfjorden Alkefjellet
We continue towards Murchison Fjord, marked by the presence of an old scientific station founded in... see+ 1958 and often frequented by colonies of walruses resting on the beaches or drifting ice. Further north, the strait leads us to Alkefjellet, one of the most spectacular birding sites in the Svalbard archipelago. In a striking setting of jagged cliffs, perfectly carved basalt columns, and dark peaks plunging into the sea, nearly 250,000 seabirds gather close to each other each summer, mainly thick-billed murres and black-legged kittiwakes. The din of the colonies, the incessant ballet of the birds, and the dizzying scale of the site create a veritable wild celebration, one of the highlights of any expedition to Spitsbergen.

Alkefjellet Kong Karl's Land
Navigation to Kong Karl's Land and White Island. Depending on ice conditions, we will attempt to... see+ reach White Island, an impressive mass covered 99% by ice. Polar bears and walruses are regularly seen in these landscapes, which are among the most isolated in the Arctic. We will also pass close-hauled by the monument dedicated to the Andrée expedition, a moving hiking of this historic attempt to reach the North Pole by balloon. A truly legendary place.

Kong Karl's Land Sailing to the ice floe
Searching for bears in the ice floes: The ice floes are the polar bear's absolute kingdom, a vast... see+ white desert where it hunts and asserts its dominance over the Arctic. During these three days of exploration, we will make our way between the ice floes in search of this iconic animal. Each day will be a real adventure: careful observation, respectful silence, time devoted to photography and discovering this unique polar world. In these icy expanses, walruses, seals, and Arctic birds may also make an appearance, completing this exceptional wild tableau.

Nordaustlandet Spitsbergen Kongsfjorden
We will set sail for the most iconic fjords of northwestern Spitsbergen, including the famous... see+ King's Bay. Dominated by the sharp peaks of the Three Crowns, this spectacular bay is one of the archipelago's historical and scientific highlights. Several glaciers, now in retreat, calve large icebergs that drift slowly in its calm waters. The surrounding cliffs and slopes are home to rich bird colonies, while botanical reserves and scientific stations testify to the importance of this region for Arctic research. Svalbard reindeer and polar foxes may also appear around the bends of the valleys and moraines.
