One night in Bora Bora

Excursion to the island of Bora-Bora with Le Truck
Explore the paradise island of Bora Bora on this tour aboard "Le Truck," a colorful and friendly truck-bus designed to carry about forty passengers on wooden benches. This picturesque mode of transport was once an iconic means of travel in Polynesia,... see+ especially on the Society Islands.

From the dock, you’ll board your "Truck" and pass through the Fa’anui district. Along the way, you’ll drive through small villages and fields, offering a glimpse of the daily life of Bora Bora’s residents. A brief stop at Fanny Bay will allow you to photograph Mount Otemanu and Mount Pahia.

Your route continues to the ancient ceremonial site of Fa’anui Marae, followed by a visit to the bunkers built by American GIs during World War II. At Mama Edna’s, you’ll enjoy some local treats such as breadfruit, peas mixed with coconut milk (not marinated), taro, and tropical fruits. You’ll also have the chance to purchase locally handmade and hand-painted traditional pareos. Moving on, you’ll admire Mount Otemanu from a scenic viewpoint, standing as a silent sentinel guarding the Pearl of the South Pacific.

Finally, you’ll pass by the Club Med Village before reaching the sandy beach of Matira, where you can enjoy stunning views and take photos before returning to Vaitape.

At the end of the tour, you’ll return to your ship from the dock. Be prepared for a bumpy ride on some trails during this island tour. Occasionally, an air-conditioned bus may replace the Truck. If you plan to shop during the excursion, please bring cash. The only currencies accepted are the US dollar and the Pacific franc.

Pre-reservations open approximately two months before departure and continue until seven days before the start of the cruise, subject to availability.
