Continue to Brasov, one of the seven citadels founded by the Saxons in Transylvania, where you will visit the Black Church, an important monument of Transylvanian Gothic art. Its organ, with 4,000 pipes, dates from 1839. The stained glass windows are superb, as are its 119 oriental carpets (15th-18th centuries), statues, and Italian Renaissance-style paintings. Then you will reach Council Square, the true historical heart of Brasov. Surrounding this ancient square is a series of historic buildings with unique and colorful architecture, all of which form an exceptional panorama. You will also see the old town hall, in front of which stands the sculpture of the Capitoline Wolf, which adorns this notable building in the city of Brasov. Then return to the hotel. Located in the heart of Romania and bathed by the Cibin River, the city of Sibiu charms travelers with its medieval atmosphere, inviting them to explore in any season. With its old-world charm, Sibiu is a veritable open-air museum, with houses dating back to 1380 lining the narrow side of the boat, stairways leading down to the "lower town," the imposing Evangelical Church, which took two centuries to build, and the Large and Small Squares surrounded by centuries-old buildings. The Brukenthal Palace is well worth a visit, both for its splendid period furniture and for the works on display. Under the chandelier in the music room, admire the colorful friezes and 18th-century instruments before exploring the other rooms, which feature 17th-century portraits, satin daybeds, and antique jewelry boxes. The place is sumptuously preserved. Continue on to the Evangelical Cathedral, one of the most beautiful and imposing Gothic churches in Transylvania. Then head to Sibiel to visit the icon museum. The museum houses the largest exhibition of glass icons in Transylvania today, a miracle of artistic creation and religious inspiration born of the search for Orthodox Christian tradition and the imagination of Romanian peasant painters. A visit to the Sibiel Museum also offers the opportunity to discover the figure of the man whose name it bears: Father Zosim Oancea, a truly exceptional man and priest whose clear-sighted intelligence and tireless tenacity are responsible for this extraordinary museum in the heart of Romania. Located on a cliff at the former border between Transylvania and Wallachia, Bran Castle, popularly known as Dracula's Castle, is a legendary place and the most popular fortress in Romania. Built between 1377 and 1388, the castle is an important Romanian national monument that inspired the famous writer Bram Stoker to create one of the most popular novels of all time, Dracula. Included excursion: visit to Peles Castle and Sinaia Monastery. Departure by coach to Sinaia. Visit... see+ the magnificent 19th-century Peles Castle, summer residence of the Romanian royal family. Peles was born from the poetic dream of the first royal couple, Carol I and Elisabeth of Hohenzollern, enlightened rulers of Romania. The castle is what makes this small town famous. The huge rooms of this royal summer residence are all lavishly decorated with gigantic Murano crystal chandeliers, stained glass windows, and teak and other local wood paneling. The monumental staircase, the centerpiece of the grand hall, features no fewer than six thousand figures whose gaze is directed toward visitors. Then drive to Sinaia Monastery, which is still home to around twenty monks. You will visit the large Orthodox church, which dates back to 1846 and contains two icons donated by Tsar Nicholas II in 1903, and the small history museum, which displays some of the monastery's treasures, including the first translation of the Bible into Romanian, dating from 1668.

Once an important Greek trading post, it has preserved a number of interesting vestiges from its heyday. Not least the remarkable 3rd-century Roman mosaic. The streets of the old town also hold a few surprises, as far as the seafront and the casino, which raises its rococo façade against the wind. Then on to Murfatlar. The sunny Dobrogean plateau on the shores of the Black Sea is the country's most promising region. The Murfatlar vineyards have made a name for themselves, winning numerous international awards for their Chardonnay. Wine tasting in a local cellar. Night sail to Cernavoda.

It is still very popular today for meditation. Continue to Novi Sad. Considered by Serbs to be one of the most beautiful cities in the country, the city has a very lively pedestrianized historic center. The Austro-Hungarian architecture of the main square rivals the beauty of the 19th-century mansions. A green city, Novi Sad boasts pretty flower beds and tree-lined squares. Departure for the optional excursion to Constanta. Departure by bus towards the Black Sea to reach Constanta, founded by the Greeks in the 7th century BC. Today, it has more than 560,000 inhabitants and is the second most important port on the Black Sea after... see+ Istanbul. You will depart from Ovidius Square to visit the Museum of History and Archaeology, which houses artifacts discovered during archaeological excavations. Opposite, a glass museum houses a huge Roman mosaic, a superb polychrome mosaic dating from the 3rd century. You will then discover an architectural melting pot, including the Great Roman Mosque (exterior) and the Orthodox Church (interior). You will also see the Genoa lighthouse. From the pier, there is a beautiful view of old Constanta. The promenade along the seafront, which offers a magnificent view of the rising tide, will take you to the majestic Casino (exterior), built at the beginning of the 20th century in the Secession style (Austrian Art Nouveau). It evokes Constanta in its heyday, when it was the favorite resort of wealthy idlers. Continue towards Murfatlar, where Romania's finest wines are produced. This wine estate, covering more than 4,000 hectares, is the largest in Europe. Wine tasting in a cellar in the town. Departure from Giurgiu by coach. Accompanied by guides, you will set off to explore the Romanian capital, Bucharest. According to legend, the city was founded by a shepherd named Bucur (which means joy in Romanian). Bucharest suffered greatly during its... see+ communist past but was able to take advantage of significant economic development in 2000 to modernize.You will begin the tour with a panoramic tour of the city, which will give you an overview of the capital's various monuments. You will travel by bus to the Bucharest Ecomuseum (1), a real village within the city where you can discover the habitats of different regions of Romania as well as their crafts. The tour will end with a photo stop at the Palace of Parliament, a titanic neoclassical marble building designed by Ceausescu, followed by a visit to Stavropoleos Monastery or Kretzulescu Church (2). Veliko Tarnovo, with its medieval Tsarevets Fortress, is one of the oldest cities in the country and the administrative center of the region. Lunch in a restaurant offering a breathtaking view of the fortress ruins. In the afternoon, continue to Arbanassi. Located 4 km from the city of Veliko Tarnovo, it is one of the most visited villages in Bulgaria and is now classified as an "Architectural and Historical Reserve." You will visit the Church of the Nativity, which is the oldest in Arbanassi. Initially, the naos, which today is booked for men, was an independent church with frescoes dating back to 1597. You will continue your visit with the Konstantzaliev family home, which catches the eye and strikes the imagination with its monumental architecture rich in shapes and details. The Krusedol Monastery is one of the most beautiful, founded in the 16th century and decorated with sumptuous paintings dating from the 18th century. Continue by coach to Novi Sad. The capital of the autonomous region of Vojvodina, Novi Sad is also Serbia's second largest city in terms of population. The city has a long and eventful history, having been ruled by the Celts, Romans, Franks, Barbarians, and Turks before becoming part of the Habsburg Empire. It was then known as Petrovaradin, while the name Novi Sad, meaning "new plant," appeared in 1748. The city's history was further disrupted during the 20th century when, after World War I, the Balkan territories were successively united or separated under different names until 2006, when the city became part of independent Serbia. You will visit the city center by foot. The old Austro-Hungarian town with its Baroque buildings developed around the old fortifications. You will have the opportunity to see the bishop's seat and an Orthodox church before continuing up the main street to Freedom Square, wherethe Town Hall, dating from 1895, is located. Guided tour of Osijek
Accompanied by your guides, you will begin with a visit to Osijek, located in the east of the historic Croatian region of Slavonia. The city was founded by the Slavs, who built a river port on the ruins of a Roman city in the 7th century. In 1526, the Turks... see+ captured the city and remained there for more than 160 years, making Osijek the capital of Ottoman Slavonia. But in 1687, they suffered a heavy defeat at Harkany and left the city without a fight. It was pillaged by the Austrians, who left no trace of Ottoman splendor. The Austrians built their citadel on the dismantled Turkish city. You will first visit the upper town with a view of the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul. Colloquially known as the cathedral, this imposing red brick church, dominated by a 90-meter topmast, was built at the instigation of Bishop Strossmayer, a native of Osijek. Then you will head to the old town, where you will visit the 18th-century fortress built between 1712 and 1721 by architect Maximilien Gosseau d'Hennef, who designed the civil and military buildings of the citadel, giving it a remarkable architectural unity.
