Check in at the Westmark Hotel after arriving on your flight from Seattle. Several daily flights... see+ serve this lively city, nestled in the heart of one of Alaska's most beautiful fjords. Surrounded by spectacular mountains and facing the ocean, Sitka charms visitors with its authentic atmosphere, a legacy of its Russian and Native American past. Free time to explore the city, its waterfront, and historic neighborhoods. In the evening, enjoy a seafood dinner showcasing local flavors.

Sitka Kruzof Island
Free morning and lunch in Sitka, to enjoy the typical Alaskan atmosphere of this town between the... see+ sea and the mountains at your own pace. In the afternoon, we board the side of our ship and begin our cruise. This first voyage through inland waters is already an immersion in Alaska's natural wealth: bald eagles soaring above the rising tide, sea lions basking on the rocks, and many other marine species accompany our progress. We then sail through the Sukoi Strait before dropping anchor near the volcanic island of Kruzof, dominated by Mount Edgecumbe, an iconic silhouette of the region.

This exceptional site unfolds in a spectacular setting, between steep cliffs and dense forests in Tongass National Park, one of the largest temperate forests in the world.

Sailing through Chatham Strait, one of Alaska's most renowned areas for marine wildlife viewing.... see+ These rich waters regularly attract Dall's porpoises, humpback whales, orcas, and Steller sea lions, offering superb viewing opportunities from the ship or during dinghy excursions. Walks are also planned in the coastal forests of the North Pacific, a lush environment dominated by giant conifers and thick mosses. The voyage then continues through Sergius and Peril Straits, places steeped in history, successive witnesses to indigenous cultures, Russian colonization, and then Alaska's annexation by the United States.

Sail along the spectacular coastline of Baranof Island, renowned for its rich marine wildlife: sea... see+ otters, sea lions, and whales are regular visitors to these waters. From the open sea, we will admire the impressive waterfalls that cascade down from the often snow-capped heights and plunge directly into the ocean, giving this coastline the evocative nickname of "Waterfall Coast." We then reach Admiralty Island, a wild territory where grizzly bears can be observed along the shores and rivers. The Tlingit Indians called this region "Kootznoowoo," meaning "the fortress of bears," a testament to the emblematic presence of these large predators in this unspoiled natural environment.

This day is devoted to sailing through some of Alaska's most spectacular landscapes. In Glacier... see+ Bay, imposing rock faces, slender peaks, and majestic glacier fronts create an exceptional backdrop. Icebergs, recently calved, centerboard slowly with the currents and tides. We will continue on to the legendary Glacier Bay, a designated natural sanctuary, before entering Tracy Arm, a narrow fjord dominated by an impressive blue-hued glacier. In the evening, we will hold a farewell party in Taku Bay, surrounded by unspoiled and silent nature, to bring this exploration of Alaska's wild lands to a beautiful conclusion.

Tracy Arm Fjord Juneau
Disembarkation scheduled for around 10 a.m. in Juneau, Alaska's administrative capital. Nestled... see+ between snow-capped mountains and sparkling fjords, this city is the ideal starting point for exploring the region's natural riches. Juneau is also famous for its excursions to the Mendenhall Glacier, where visitors marvel at the spectacle of floating icebergs and frozen waterfalls. The surrounding waters, rich in whales and other cetaceans, offer a few last opportunities to observe marine wildlife before the end of the cruise.
