Hô Chi Minh My Tho Tan Phong Island
Our local partner will welcome you in the morning at our reception lounge in Saigon.
Relax with a... see+ cup of coffee while our staff takes your information.
We’ll leave the hustle and bustle of Saigon behind and travel 70 km south to My Tho, where we’ll board the boat.
After checking in to your luxurious floating “home,” we’ll set sail on this major Asian waterway.
A buffet lunch is served as the boat glides upstream.
As twilight casts a golden glow over the Mekong Delta, get to know your fellow travelers over canapés and prosecco.
During dinner, the boat reaches Tan Phong Island, close to Cai Be, where we drop anchor.
This offers a first glimpse of the bustling area where our overland adventure will begin tomorrow.
In the evening, the cinema features classic films and fascinating documentaries.

Tan Phong Island Binh Thanh Tan Chau
Wake up early to watch the sunrise, then join our daily tai chi class before a sumptuous breakfast... see+ buffet.
We’ll take a local boat to the secluded island of Tan Phong, in the middle of the Mekong River.
In Cai Be, a workshop demonstrates the production of rice paper, rice crackers, rice wine, and coconut candies—a fascinating handmade process.
On Tan Phong Island, visit a local family and their fruit garden, where you can sample tropical fruits.
Take a buggy ride to get a glimpse of local life, then stop at a family that specializes in weaving water hyacinth.
Optional: a bike tour on flat trails through rambutan, longan, and jackfruit orchards, including a visit to a family-run handicraft business, a break under a banyan tree, and a tasting at a fruit farm.

Relax on your balcony or at the bar during the return trip to Sa Dec.
In the afternoon, anchor close to Binh Thanh, one of the largest islands in the Mekong River.
Its communities make their living by cultivating water hyacinths; as you stroll around, you’ll discover local life and the traditional craft of mat-making.
Meet an elderly couple who have spent their entire lives on the island and are always happy to chat.
Optional: Explore the island by bike—pittoresque alleys, rice paddies, traditional houses, and then the village of Long Ta, famous for its scarf weaving.

Tan Chau Phnom Penh
After our tai chi session and a delicious breakfast, we set out to explore this region renowned for... see+ its aquaculture.
Once ashore, we immerse ourselves in the bustling life of Tan Chau aboard “xelois” (rickshaws).
Your personal driver navigates leisurely through the streets, allowing you to observe workshops, street vendors, shops, and daily life.
We mingle with the locals at the local market, then visit a Cao Dai temple and meet a priest who sheds light on these unique beliefs.
Final destination: a family-run fish farm that has been in operation for years, offering a glimpse into the essential knowledge required to manage such a business.
Optional: a bike ride on a small Mekong island close to Tan Chau—flat terrain, lush green paths, mango farms, and fruit orchards.
Stop at a small market to chat with the vendors, followed by visits to a frog farm and a workshop where high-quality mats are woven.

In the afternoon, we sail upriver toward Phnom Penh.
Switch to “cruise mode”: spa, sun deck, or private balcony.
The captain always shares an interesting story about “his” river.

Welcome to Phnom Penh, once known as the “Paris of the East.”
Despite its rapid development, it... see+ retains its rustic charm and elegance, with centuries of history palpable at every street corner.
The guided tour begins after breakfast: a cyclo ride through the city, followed by a visit to the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda.
Our journey takes us to “S21” prison, a poignant and dark chapter in the history of the Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970s.
Lunch break in the city, followed by a visit to the “Sosoro” Museum, one of the country’s most famous museums.
The excursion concludes with a leisurely stroll through the French Quarter, including the iconic Wat Phnom monument.
No optional excursion in the morning.
In the evening, an expert lecture in the lounge.
To round out this eventful day, an outdoor barbecue and gala dinner accompanied by a traditional Apsara dance performance.

Phnom Penh Kampong Chhnang Kampong Tralach
Before sunrise, the boat sets sail and enters the Tonle River, a natural wonder of Cambodia with... see+ exceptional scenery.
First stop: Koh Chen Island, a village renowned for its silversmiths.
Here, 400 families work with silver, copper, and brass to create intricate works of art and jewelry.
A short walk reveals their creations, some of which once adorned the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh.
There are no optional excursions in the morning.
As we travel upriver, lunch is served, followed by a presentation by our crew on traditional Khmer attire worn on special occasions.
In the afternoon, we arrive in Kampong Laeang, across from the famous pottery town of Kampong Chhnang.
We take a tuk-tuk into the heart of rural Cambodian life: meeting locals, discovering the art of pottery, and visiting a charming pre-Angkorian temple.
From a lookout point, enjoy panoramic views of the vast floodplains and lush rice fields.
Optional: a cycling tour through rice fields and picturesque villages where small businesses produce pottery or palm sugar.
Flat terrain and enchanting landscapes offer a captivating glimpse into local life.

Kampong Tralach Prek Bangkong Angkor Ban
This morning, we went on an exciting excursion through the countryside of Kampong Tralach.
An... see+ ox-drawn cart took us along the river and down winding country roads, lined with picturesque rice paddies, to a small village.
We’ll learn more about a local NGO’s school and library project, or visit the nearby 300-year-old Buddhist temple and shrine.
Optional: a cycling tour through the picturesque Tonle region: the former royal palace of Lungvek, the Jade Buddha Temple (1560), and watching fishermen cast their nets into the tranquil waters.

A presentation on the Mekong and Tonlé Rivers is offered as the boat travels downstream, passing through Phnom Penh before entering the Mekong.
In the afternoon, at the confluence of the Tonlé and Mekong Rivers, lies Prek Bangkong, known for its community of silk weavers.
This village was the former residence of the royal family before they moved to the Royal Palace.
The real stars of the show are the silk weavers, artisans who have been crafting silk from the very beginning.
We observe the complex production process, then visit the heritage home of H.E. Sam-El, a famous royal architect.
Optional: a cycling tour to the former royal palace of “Lavea Em” (1601–1618), with stops at historic pagodas, silk workshops, and bustling markets, followed by a tea break at H.E. Sam-El’s home.

The rest of the day is spent traveling upriver on the Mekong.

Angkor Ban Kampong Cham
The morning Tai Chi session sets the tone before our visit to Angkor Ban.
This site features a... see+ monastery with a charming local village behind it.
You’ll meet monks during their morning practice and strike up friendly conversations with the villagers.
As we stroll around, we get a glimpse into the local way of life and take home wonderful memories of rural Cambodia.
Optionally, the bike tour begins with a peaceful encounter with a monk.
As we cycle through the lush green fields, picturesque old houses dot the landscape.
Watch blacksmiths at work, then finish with an ice-cold local beer or freshly pressed sugarcane juice.

We head toward Kampong Cham around lunchtime.
In the afternoon, we’re on the vast Mekong River in the city of Kampong Cham, a major commercial and transportation hub that still preserves small, scattered hamlets where community life blends with the skilled hands of artisans.
In Cheung Kok, locals handcraft a variety of items: food, clothing, and everyday goods.
The nearby bamboo deck, erected seasonally, serves as a gateway to the past.
Optional: a cycling adventure from Kampong Cham to the idyllic island of Koh Pen—through vibrant vegetable fields and lush tobacco plantations, observing Khmer farmers, artisans, and beekeepers.

Then, the boat makes its final voyage, mooring in the middle of the river close to Stueng Trang amid farewells and a festive atmosphere.
