Yacht charter

Last updated on 18 May 2026

Mast-raked by travelers in search of the exotic, Antigua is world-renowned for its hundreds of beautiful white sand beaches set off by sublime tropical scenery. You can admire these wonders by opting for a yacht charter in Antigua. This island in the Lesser Antilles is also an exciting land of adventure, home to a lush forest with remarkably well-preserved flora and fauna. The place also invites its visitors to veer off on thrilling ecotourism hikes, while offering a multitude of leisure and relaxation activities.

The island is an essential place to rent a boat in the Caribbean, organizing the regattas of «Sailing Week» every year. It also remains a paradise for pleasure boating, where you can sail in complete tranquility the gentle trade winds. This is a wonderful opportunity to discover the fascinating wild islets that surround Antigua and to admire the impressive wrecks of old English ships while scuba diving.

To guarantee you a memorable Caribbean vacation, Filovent offers a wide choice of boats with one hull and catamarans with optimal comfort.

Pleasure boating to explore the island with 365 beaches

The geographical location of the island of Antigua is particularly interesting for yachtsmen who wish to discover the Caribbean by sailboat. Guadeloupe is only about fifty kilometers to the south. To the west, Monserrat and Saint Kitts and Nevis are not far away either, as is Barbuda, further north. As a seaside destination, the largest of the Leeward Islands is ideal for a whole range of water sports: from lazing around on the side of the boat on a paradise beach to aquatic hiking, surfing and sailing. Some cruise passengers are right to associate sailing, cocktails, sunbathing mattresses and swimming in crystal clear waters.

Sailing around this island jewel, nicknamed "the island of 365 beaches", is also a way to enjoy wild and unspoiled beaches, those that are synonymous with unique postcards. To the southwest of the capital, St. John's, Hawksbill Bay is one of the places you absolutely must visit, especially if you like communing with nature. In this lush and peaceful site, where exotic vegetation and a captivating turquoise bay meet, visitors will be treated to 360 degrees of wonder, enchanted by the pelicans that do not hesitate to dive in close-hauled to catch food from bathers. Also on the west coast, but further south, Valley Church Bay, with its exceptionally clear beach, is also a highly recommended stopover, as are Ffryes Beach and Darkwood Beach, which offer an astonishing view of the Montserrat volcano. Jolly Harbour, on the other hand, will appeal to those who wish to veer off to play golf, even if the 18-hole Cedar Valley Golf Course in St. John's is more popular with fans of the sport.

A remarkable natural heritage

The eastern part of Antigua also has several sites to explore by boat, starting with Great Bird Island in the northeast. This charming private island, which is open to the public, offers a majestic setting for getting away from it all with its mangrove, stretches of white sand and rocky and green coastlines enhanced by remarkable wildlife. It is of course possible to have an anchored boat there, especially as the transparency of the water makes navigation easy, even if it is sometimes necessary to slalom between the coral. In this enchanting environment, nature lovers can admire brown pelicans, lizards, endemic snakes and several species of rare birds. It should also be noted that Great Bird Island and the small neighboring islands are part of the famous North Sound Marine Park.

But if you are perpetually mast-raked with natural curiosity, then you must visit Devil's Bridge, close to Willikies and Indian Town National Park. The place will reveal to you an incredible natural arch that has been sculpted over the centuries by the waves of the Atlantic. In addition, a visit to this timeless place will be an opportunity to discover the treasures of biodiversity in Indian Town, as well as objects from archaeological excavations dating back to the time when the first inhabitants of the island settled there.biodiversity treasures of Indian Town, as well as objects from archaeological excavations dating from the time when Native Americans inhabited the island.
