Dragonfly Yachts
Dragonfly is the result of a family's unconditional love of the sea, sailing and pleasure boats. When we talk about Dragonfly, we immediately think of Quorning Boat, a family business founded by Børge Quorning. Quorning Boat in its early daysQuorning Boat was in fact the result of the Quorning family's indefinable passion for the sea. But it was the discovery of a magnificent trimaran on the American coast that convinced Børge Quorning to start creating pleasure boats. In 1967, Børge Quorning, supported by his brother Bent, began building his first sailboats in northern Europe. The founder of Quorning Boat then switched to the production of fishing vessels in order to expand his clientele. The company produced its first series of Luna 19s. Fiberglass was also used for the first time in the construction workshops. However, it was difficult for the shipyard owner to forget his passion for trimarans. Still working alongside his younger brother Bent, Børge designed new, smaller trimarans made of fiberglass. The Trident 22 left the factories in 1970.Quorning Boat's DragonflyIt was not until 1972 that the first generation of the Dragonfly trimaran, nicknamed «The Yellow One», was unveiled. also made of fiberglass, the yellow boat was built for Éric and Jens, the two children of the Dane Børge. Only 16 feet long, the vessel also includes materials such as plywood and foam.Although new vessels have emerged from the shipyard's factories over the years, such as the Combi Cat catamaran, the Dragonfly boat continues to appeal to sailors and has become a true legend, especially when Éric took part in the Round Britain & Ireland Race in 1985.Easy to handle and perfect for racing enthusiasts, the Dragonfly 25 trimaran is also a must for families looking to enjoy a pleasant getaway at sea. also easy to tow, the sailboat has a rigid platform and small, comfortable cabins
