Facing the Baltic Sea, Österskär is a residential district of Akersberga, a Swedish town located on a peninsula not far from Stockholm. Part of the municipality of Österåker, it is located between the bays of Trälhavet and Sättersfjärden. The area is ideal for a relaxing stay with family or friends. Here, you can stroll along the green spaces by the sea, an almost obligatory walk in this summer resort that is absolutely worth the detour. The contemporary dwellings blend perfectly into nature. Thon Castle, a ruined tower dating from the early 13th century that has now been renovated, is not to be missed.
Once you have been immersed in the charm and magic of Österskär, there is nothing like a yacht charter to continue the adventure in Swedish territory. The port of Österskär, located on the eastern part of the peninsula, can accommodate sailboats and many small motorboats, perfect for exploring the surroundings. For example, you can go to the island of Vaxholm. Here, the landscape is relaxing. The colorful houses set among the shafts make for a magnificent picture. A fortress built in the 16th century to protect the city of Stockholm is now open to the public as a history museum.
