You can also reach the Anamurium site by water-jet-powered motorized craft to the port of Mersin. The economic lung of Turkey, Mersin is recognizable by its coastline, certainly the longest in the country. But one also lingers in Mersin to sample its particularly famous culinary specialtiesly famous, such as Künefe, a cheese-based dessert and pastry baked in a wood-fired oven, or Karsambaç, crushed ice drizzled with honey, which will be welcome at the hottest time of the day.

Founded by the Greeks after the Trojan War, this city is home to a magnificent Greco-Roman theater dating back to the 2nd century. You should also take a stroll through the peaceful streets of the old town, protected by a fortified wall, with 18th-century Ottoman houses on the sides of the boat.
