Buenos Aires
A night in Buenos Aires is the perfect starting point for your adventure to Antarctica.... see+ Characterized by a proud and diverse community of porteños, or "people of the ports," it is a city that sensually combines the splendor of old Europe with the panache of Latin America. There are many places to explore, such as the various parrillas serving authentic Argentine steaks, unless you prefer to practice your dance pitch in the very heart of the birthplace of tango.

Day 5 to Day 15: Nothing can prepare you for the spectacle you are about to witness. Set against a... see+ backdrop of imposing glaciers and floating icebergs as tall as cathedrals, the Antarctic continent will fill you with wonder. Large groups of penguins huddle on the ice floes, avoiding the cunning leopard seals that hunt them. Majestic migrating whales glide among the incredible icebergs, hunting the schools of krill they feed on. This is the time for bird lovers to scan the skies for some of the 45 species of Antarctic seabirds that have made their home in the region, such as skuas, petrels, and terns. There, nature reigns supreme and we are mere visitors. Our experienced captain will constantly assess the weather conditions in order to plan the best possible sailing itinerary for your adventure. Your next eleven days will be devoted to the thrilling exploration of a selection of possible landing sites. Don't worry! Every day will bring its share of thrills. We will cross the Arctic Circle as we continue south to Margaret Bay and explore various islands along the way. If the opportunity arises, you can join the expedition team for expedition boat trips and landings. You may even have the chance to kayak among the icebergs. Back on the side of the boat, the expedition team will continue its lectures to help you learn more about the frozen continent.
