Breakfast at the hotel, then start of visits with the southern part of ancient Thebes, where the... see+ temples of Karnak and Luxor are located. The two temples are connected by a dromos, a long avenue with the side of the boat lined with sphinxes, and are dedicated to Amun. The three-enclosure temple of Karnak is part of the religious complex of the same name, which includes the ruins of other temples, buildings, and pylons. Its construction and subsequent modifications spanned more than 2,000 years. The Temple of Luxor, built in the 14th century BC during the reign of Amenhotep III, was also modified later by Ramses II, who added six monumental statues and two obelisks. In the evening, optional sound and light show at the Temple of Karnak. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Breakfast, then visit the necropolis of Thebes on the west bank of the Nile, followed by the Valley... see+ of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens, where the tombs of many pharaohs of the New Kingdom are located, as well as their families and favored nobles. The tour continues with the Colossi of Memnon, the last remains of the temple of Amenhotep III, and Deir el Bahari, the funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Carved out of the rock in the mountain of Thebes, this three-tiered temple built in 1455 BC is both harmonious and modern, and although dedicated to the god Amun, it also contains chapels to Anubis and Hathor, the goddess protector of women. This is not surprising, since Hatshepsut, one of the four female pharaohs to have ruled Egypt, is considered "the first great woman whose name has been preserved by history." At the end of the day, transfer to your dahabiya, then dinner and overnight stay on the side of the boat.

Breakfast and cruise to Esna. On arrival, visit the Temple of Esna, dedicated to Khnum and Neith.... see+ Construction of this temple began under Ptolemy VIII and was completed under Roman rule, first by Claudius and then by Marcus Aurelius. The temple, which is still partly buried, is situated on land 10 m lower than the rest of the city. Return to the boat for lunch and continue the cruise to the island of El Hegz, where the boat will stop for the night. Dinner and overnight on board.

El Hegz Edfou Bassaw
Breakfast, then sail to Edfu. Upon arrival, take a horse-drawn carriage ride to the Temple of Horus... see+ further inland (alternative transportation available upon request). This sanctuary dedicated to the falcon god Horus is both the largest temple of the Ptolemaic Dynasty and the second-largest in Egypt after Karnak. Inside, the intact paintings, inscriptions, and reliefs make it the best-preserved temple in Egypt. After the visit, return to the boat for lunch and continue the cruise to Bisaw Island, where the boat will stop for the night. Free time to explore the island and dinner on the riverbank. Overnight on board.

Bassaw Gebel Silsileh Kom Ombo Assouan
Breakfast and departure for Gebel Silsileh, both an archaeological site and Egypt's largest... see+ sandstone quarry. Placed under the protection of the god Hapy, this quarry provided the sandstone for almost all the temples in Upper Egypt. On the west bank of the river is a rock-cut sanctuary dedicated to the god Horemheb and seven other deities, including the local god Sobek. Lunch on board and explore the old quarry on foot before continuing the cruise to Kom Ombo. Dedicated to two deities, Sobek the crocodile to the south and Horus the falcon to the north, the temple's architecture is perfectly symmetrical. Erected on a hill by three Ptolemies, the Kom Ombo complex is surrounded by an enclosing wall covered in reliefs. Return to the boat and continue upriver to Aswan for dinner. Overnight on board.

Breakfast on board and early arrival in Aswan. Visit to the Temple of Philae on the island of... see+ Agilka, one of Egypt's most beautiful sanctuaries. Begun by Pharaoh Nectanebo I during the 30th dynasty and completed by the Romans, it is the main sanctuary dedicated to Isis. After Philae, the visit continues with the high dam and the unfinished obelisk.

The Aswan region, rich in the schist, alabaster and pink granite found only in this part of Egypt, provided the stone blocks for the pyramids, statues and colossi built by the pharaohs. In the granite quarry you'll find the largest obelisk known to date (41.75m), which was abandoned due to a crack in the rock. Return to the boat for lunch. Optional sound and light show at Philae temple in the evening. Dinner and overnight on board.

Assouan Abu Simbel
Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer by bus to Abu Simbel, check-in on your cruise ship on Lake... see+ Nasser, and lunch on the side of the boat. Visit the temples of Abu Simbel. The temple of Ramses II, which honored the gods Ra-Horakhty, Amun, and Path and the deified pharaoh, as well as that of Hathor, was to be submerged by the waters of the Nile when the high dam on the Nile was put into service. On the initiative of UNESCO, they were dismantled in 1965 and rebuilt identically at the top of the Libyan mountain range overlooking the river at this point. The entrance is flanked by four colossal statues of Ramses II, 20 meters high and larger than the Colossi of Memnon, carved directly from the rock and facing east. In the evening, dinner with a "sound and light" show, then overnight on the side of the boat.

Abu Simbel Kasr Ibrim Amada
Breakfast on the side of the boat and cruise to the ancient fortified town of Qasr Ibrim. Perched... see+ on a cliff 80 m above the Nile, it is the only site to have survived its floods. After the construction of the Aswan High Dam, Lake Nasser transformed it into a small island that is not accessible. After lunch, sail to Amada. Once there, visit the temple. Built 3,000 years ago, this temple belongs to the golden age of Egyptian art. Its seven rooms are decorated with inscriptions, fine sculptures, and wonderful paintings that have remained intact. Continue your visit with the temple of Deir and the tomb of Peinout. Dinner and overnight on the side of the boat.

Amada Wadi el Seboua Assouan
After breakfast, visit the Temple of Amun Ra at Wadi es Seboua. The name of the temple means... see+ "Valley of the Lionesses," the lionesses being the sphinxes that decorate the two courtyards of the temple. The temple has been moved to its current location at the New Seboua site. Return to the boat for lunch and sail to Aswan.

Breakfast, then visit the temples of Kalabsha. In Greek times, this temple was located close-hauled... see+ to the city of Talmis at the Tropic of Cancer, about 50 km south of Aswan. On either side of the river, rocks formed a pass that the inhabitants called the Gate of Kalabsha. As evidenced by its undecorated facade, it was never completed. Despite being unfinished, it is considered the most complete and largest temple still standing in Lower Nubia. After the visits, departure for lunch in a typical restaurant, then transfer to the airport and flight to Cairo. Check-in at your hotel, then dinner and overnight stay.

Dahabiehs are traditional sailing boats that navigate primarily under sail. When wind conditions do not permit it, or on certain stretches of the Nile, the boat may be towed at a distance (approximately 30 m) by a small tugboat, as dahabiehs do not have engines

Unfinished obelisk
The Unfinished Obelisk of Aswan is an impressive remnant located in an ancient granite quarry in Upper Egypt. Commissioned during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut, it was intended to be the largest obelisk ever constructed, reaching about 42 meters in height and... see+ weighing an estimated 1,200 tons. However, a crack that appeared during the carving process halted the work, leaving the monument incomplete and still attached to the bedrock.
Today, the site provides a unique insight into the working methods of ancient Egyptian stonecutters. Visitors can observe extraction techniques, tool marks, and the monumental logistics involved in creating such structures.
