Your journey begins with a transfer from your hotel to Esna, located 50 km south of Luxor. Upon... see+ arrival, board your Dahabieh for a 5-day cruise along the Nile, sailing toward Aswan. Before departure, visit the Temple of Esna, dedicated to the ram-headed god Khnum, and enjoy a short walk through the vibrant local markets. The Dahabieh then sets sail to El Kab, the ancient city of Nekheb. Explore the remains of temples and the tombs carved into the cliffs, offering a glimpse into Egypt’s distant past. As the day winds down, the boat moors near a small island. Enjoy a peaceful dinner either on board or on the quiet banks of the Nile. After your visit, enjoy lunch on board as the scenery transforms—from golden desert sands to lush palm groves, echoing the timeless beauty of the Nile Valley. In the afternoon, explore the remarkably preserved Temple of Horus in Edfu, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. Once the site of grand ceremonies featuring live falcons, the temple is a powerful tribute to the falcon-headed god Horus. The journey continues to Wadi el Shat, where you’ll take a peaceful walk through small villages and desert paths, soaking in the simplicity of rural Egyptian life. As the sun sets, the Dahabieh anchors near a quiet island. Dinner is served either on board or under the stars on the riverbank. Back on board, a relaxing lunch awaits as the Dahabiya resumes its journey. In the afternoon, explore the impressive rock-cut chapels dedicated to pharaohs such as Seti I, Ramesses II, Merenptah, and Horemheb.
