Practical information for a successful yacht charter in the Mediterranean
Here is some information that is important to have in mind before a sailboat or catamaran charter in the Mediterranean:
- Boat license: you need a coastal or offshore license if you choose to rent a boat without a skipper, unless you plan to sail less than 6 nautical miles from shelter or if you rent a motorboat with less than 40 horsepower.
- Check the weather: always check the weather conditions before setting sail. The weather can be changeable and there is no point in taking unnecessary risks by sailing in bad weather. This will help you avoid dangerous situations during your sailboat charter in the Mediterranean.
- Sailing itineraries: it is advisable to identify points of interest and ports of call and to plan alternatives according to the conditions before your Mediterranean cruise. Our experts can advise and help you with your booking so that you can fully enjoy your maritime adventure.
- Insurance: you will be asked for a deposit when you take out a yacht charter in the Mediterranean, to be paid at the departure base. In the event of damage, this sum of money may be partially or totally withheld depending on the severity. We offer damage waiver insurance that reduces the amount you could lose in the event of damage. Our advisors will clearly explain the conditions of this insurance when you make your booking. Seriously consider this option for peace of mind when sailing.
