Mediterranean Yacht Charter

Last updated on 8 April 2025

The various options for yacht charter in the Mediterranean

Find the right boat for your Mediterranean cruise from among those we have on charter.

  • Sailboat charter: an ideal option for sailing enthusiasts who will be delighted by the unique sensation of sailing, offering unparalleled freedom to discover the pearls of the French Riviera. With a wide range from compact sailboats to majestic yachts, there is something for every taste and budget.
  • Catamaran charter: ideal for those looking for space and comfort. Thanks to their shallow draft and exceptional stability, these boats allow you to explore the bays and coves near Nice, especially around the Baie des Anges, with peace of mind. Although this option is a little more expensive, it offers unparalleled comfort for extended stays.
  • Motor yacht charter: perfect for those who want to experience the French Riviera in sailing trim. These easy-to-maneuver boats are particularly suitable for day trips, whether to visit neighboring towns such as Antibes or to sneak into hidden coves.

The services you can opt for during your Mediterranean yacht charter

  • Bareboat yacht charter: if a member of your crew has a boat license, you can rent one of our yachts for as long as you like. This gives you the freedom to sail wherever you want.
  • Charter with skipper: if you have less experience, you can opt for a yacht charter with a professional skipper, in which case you do not need a license to sail. The skipper knows the sailing area and can advise you on the most beautiful anchorages and places to visit.
  • Crewed yacht charter: this type of service will be included on luxury yachts over 20 meters. It will be optional for yacht charters between 10 and 20 meters in the Mediterranean. A crew generally consists of a captain, a cook and a hostess. The crew will take care of your every need and ensure that you have an unforgettable cruise!

Practical information for a successful yacht charter in the Mediterranean

Here is some information that is important to have in mind before a sailboat or catamaran charter in the Mediterranean:

  • Boat license: you need a coastal or offshore license if you choose to rent a boat without a skipper, unless you plan to sail less than 6 nautical miles from shelter or if you rent a motorboat with less than 40 horsepower.
  • Check the weather: always check the weather conditions before setting sail. The weather can be changeable and there is no point in taking unnecessary risks by sailing in bad weather. This will help you avoid dangerous situations during your sailboat charter in the Mediterranean.
  • Sailing itineraries: it is advisable to identify points of interest and ports of call and to plan alternatives according to the conditions before your Mediterranean cruise. Our experts can advise and help you with your booking so that you can fully enjoy your maritime adventure.
  • Insurance: you will be asked for a deposit when you take out a yacht charter in the Mediterranean, to be paid at the departure base. In the event of damage, this sum of money may be partially or totally withheld depending on the severity. We offer damage waiver insurance that reduces the amount you could lose in the event of damage. Our advisors will clearly explain the conditions of this insurance when you make your booking. Seriously consider this option for peace of mind when sailing.
