Your journey through Egypt’s ancient past begins with a visit to Saqqara, the vast necropolis of... see+ ancient Memphis. Explore the iconic Step Pyramid of Djoser, the world’s first monumental stone building. Continue to the Pyramid of Titi, known for its pyramid texts, and explore the Nobles' tombs, richly decorated with scenes of daily life. Next, head south to Dahshur, where pyramid architecture took dramatic new shapes. Visit the fascinating Bent Pyramid, with its unique angles, and the Red Pyramid, considered the first true smooth-sided pyramid and predecessor to those at Giza. Pause for lunch at a local restaurant in Saqqara, where you’ll enjoy a traditional Egyptian meal—typically a delicious mix grill with kofta, kebab, and a variety of small appetizer dishes. In the afternoon, arrive at the legendary Giza Plateau. Stand in awe before the Great Pyramid of Khufu, gaze up at the Sphinx, and visit the pyramids of Khafre (Khara) and Menkaure. Explore the tombs of Giza’s nobles, where colorful scenes reveal glimpses of ancient Egyptian life.

This day in Cairo will immerse you in the many facets of the capital. You'll start with a visit to... see+ the famous Egyptian Museum - or the Grand Egyptian Museum, if it's open - to admire the country's ancient treasures. Continue with a walking tour of Cairo's city centre, featuring historic buildings and scenes of daily life. For lunch, try a traditional koshari dish at Abo Tarek, an emblematic address in the city. The afternoon will be devoted to discovering Coptic Cairo, with a visit to the remarkable Hanging Church and the Abu Serga Church, built over the grotto where the Holy Family is said to have taken refuge. Approximate duration: 7 to 8 hours. Overnight in Cairo.

Cairo Luxor
Morning transfer to Cairo airport for an hour's flight to Luxor. On arrival, the tour begins on the... see+ west bank with three emblematic sites: the Valley of the Kings, the temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. After this Pharaonic immersion (4 to 5 hours' visit), an authentic lunch awaits you at the home of a local farming family, providing an opportunity for a moment of exchange and a brief introduction to traditional Egyptian cuisine. For those who prefer, lunch in a traditional restaurant is also available. Check-in at the hotel and overnight in Luxor.

Luxor Esna El Hegz
After breakfast and hotel check-out, set off to discover the majestic temples of Karnak and Luxor,... see+ jewels of ancient Egypt (duration of visit: 3 to 4 hours). You will then take the road to Esna (approx. 1 hour), where you will visit the Temple of Esna as well as the restored caravanserai and market. Settle aboard the dahabieh, your charming boat, for a peaceful sail on the Nile. In the afternoon, your first port of call is El Hegz, an authentic village where you will enjoy a unique cultural experience. Lunch and dinner served on board.

After breakfast on board, stop off at Bassaw Island for a taste of local life. The cruise then continues to Gebel El Silsila, famous for its ancient sandstone quarries and rock-cut sanctuaries. Gebel Silsileh Kom Ombo Daraw Assouan
After breakfast on board, visit the temple of Kom Ombo, unique in its kind with its twin... see+ sanctuaries dedicated to Sobek and Horus, followed by a visit to the fascinating Crocodile Museum. Continue on to the nearby town of Daraw, where you will discover the atmosphere of a local market, visit a camel stable to learn more about traditional trade, and then stop off at a Nubian village for a moment of cultural exchange. As the dahabieh approaches Aswan, you will have the opportunity to swim or kayak on the Nile. In the evening, a farewell dinner on board and a final night's sailing to Aswan. After breakfast on board, you will leave the dahabieh for a journey across the desert to Abu Simbel... see+ (approx. 3 to 4 hours' drive). There, a guided tour of the impressive rock-cut temples, masterpieces of Ramses II and a World Heritage Site. After around two hours, return to Aswan with a stop at the High Dam, a symbol of Egypt's modernisation. Lunch in town, then check into your hotel and free time to relax. In the evening, you will be treated to the spectacular sound and light show at the Temple of Philae, an immersive experience at the heart of Egyptian mythology (approx. 2 hours). If the show is not available, the visit will take place during the day. Total duration of the day: 9 to 10 hours

Here you will discover historic mosques, traditional houses and the lively atmosphere of a district at the heart of Cairo's culture. The tour ends with a visit to the famous Khan El Khalili market, the ideal place to enjoy a last cup of tea or buy a few souvenirs. Approximate duration: 7 to 8 hours
