El Hegz Edfou Fawaza Sarag Island El Ramady Bassaw
Enjoy another leisurely breakfast on the river while sailing to Edfu, where your tour guide will... see+ accompany you on an excursion to the ancient Greco-Roman Temple of Horus, also known as Edfu Temple. This is the best-preserved temple in Egypt, as it remained buried beneath the desert sand for about 2,000 years before being rediscovered and subsequently excavated.
After your tour, continue sailing, passing by small islands where you can observe children playing by the Nile, as well as buffaloes and donkeys walking along the riverbanks. Enjoy lunch on board and keep sailing until you reach the small island village of Bassaw. This isolated community of about 500 inhabitants lives primarily from agriculture, cultivating mangoes, bananas, and dates, as well as fishing for their livelihood. Seemingly frozen in time, Bassaw remains largely untouched by the modern world.
Upon arrival at the village, visit a local farmer’s property, where we will be warmly welcomed into their home. This will be an opportunity to learn more about their way of life, particularly about education for girls living on the island. (There may even be a chance to bake traditional sun bread for dinner!)
Enjoy dinner on the island, followed by an Egyptian night presented by the crew, featuring traditional folklore and entertainment.

Arrive at Kom Ombo, where your guide will take you to explore the remarkable Temple of Kom Ombo. This temple is one of the most unique and intriguing ancient sites, as it was dedicated to two different gods: Sobek and Haeroris. To achieve this, the builders constructed two identical sections, making it essentially two temples in one. Continue sailing towards Aswan, passing by Herdiab Island. After lunch, in the afternoon, begin your tour of Aswan, starting with the magnificent Temple of Philae. Located on Agilkia Island, this is one of the most beautiful sanctuaries in Egypt. The entire temple complex was relocated from its original site to higher ground to protect it from the rising waters of Lake Nasser, following the construction of the Aswan High Dam, completed in 1977. On the way back to the Dahabeya, stop at the Aswan Souq (market), where you can practice your bargaining skills, explore the spice market, and enjoy a glass of the famous sugarcane juice.
