Weather permitting, there is an option for a hot-air balloon ride this morning (optional; please... see+ let us know in advance). Departure for the Valley of the Kings—the centerpiece of the West Bank, which contains 63 tombs (13 of which are open to visitors). Continue to the temple of Hatshepsut, the queen-pharaoh, beautifully restored and set against the limestone cliffs.
Stop at the Colossi of Memnon. Lunch at a local home, then sail to Edfu; passage through the Esna Lock (often at night).
