Beit el Wali means "house of the saint." It was carved into the mountain during the reign of Ramses II and comprises two chambers, the sanctuary and its vestibule. Return on board for lunch. We will then begin our journey south for a cruise off the beaten track, offering moments of rest, calm, and serenity. We will pass by the original site where the temple of Kalabsha once stood. This site still bears the name of the Nubian village it was called before the waters rose. Departure for Khour el Ghazal, where we will spend the night in the cove of Khour el Ghazal. Dinner stop.

Ghazal Wadi el Seboua Dakka Meharraga
Breakfast on board. Navigation to reach the site of Wadi el Seboua. Arrival at the Wadi el Seboua... see+ site for a walk and a discovery of the Nubian desert on foot. We can admire the various groups of birds around the small lagoons.
These temples were relocated with the help of UNESCO and several global organizations.
We will explore the temples of Dakka, Wadi el Seboua, and Meharraqa, with sculptures and colors that are unique in their beauty and fine detail. The temple of Dakka (Greek Pselchis) was built at the same location by the Nubian king Ergamene and by Ptolemy II when they co-ruled Lower Nubia in the 3rd century BCE. It was later redecorated and expanded by other Ptolemies and Roman emperors Augustus and Tiberius.
The temple of Wadi el Seboua, built by Ramses II, was dedicated to the gods Amon-Ra, Ra-Horakhty, and the defied Ramses II. It is accessed through an avenue of sphinxes bearing the king's image. Unlike Abu Simbel, which he oversaw, Ramses II allowed the viceroy of Kush, the Nubian province, to handle the construction here, just as he did at El Derr.
Return on board for lunch. Navigation for approximately an hour and a half.
Stop by the fine sand dunes of Wadi al Arab for a walk and relaxation. Departure towards Amada. During the navigation, you can admire the fishermen's dwellings and the verdant shores of the lake. Breakfast. Early in the morning, we may have the opportunity to admire migratory birds that stop on... see+ the shores of the lake during the entire winter period.
Visit the temples of Amada, El Derr, and the tomb of Penout.
The Amada Temple, well-preserved, is among the most interesting temples in Nubia. Its foundations belong to Thutmose III and Amenhotep II.
The relocation of this temple was a technical feat, as it was moved in one single block over a distance of two and a half kilometers. The relocation was done using a triple railway track specifically built for this purpose. The work was carried out by French companies.
El Derr, dating from the time of Ramses II, was dedicated to the god Amon and served as a church during the Coptic period.
The tomb of Penout remains in excellent condition and was relocated from the Nubian village of Aniba, 40 km south of the current site. It was cut into blocks and transported.

Carved into the heart of the mountain, the Temple of Ramses II was built in the 13th century BC to commemorate the victory of King Ramses II in the Battle of Kadesh. This temple was also built to honor the gods Ptah, Ra, and Amun. Its construction lasted about 20 years. Its pink sandstone facade is 30 meters high and 40 meters wide. It is composed of four colossal statues of Ramses II. Other statues, bas-reliefs, and friezes adorn the facade. 150 meters from the great temple, Ramses II built a small temple dedicated to the worship of his wife Nefertari, which carries the attributes of the goddess Hathor. The facade of this temple, also carved into the rock, is made up of six statues: two representing Nefertari, each flanked by two other statues of Ramses II. Each statue is 10 meters tall. Their children are at their feet.
