Take a trip back to the golden age of the 12th and 13th centuries. The splendid edifice is home to eminently refined imperial furnishings, and the spirit of the Habsburgs watches over the dazzling residence. Then take a panoramic tour of the famous boulevard known as “the Ring”. You'll see the exceptional monuments built between 1830 and 1890 that give it its unique atmosphere.
- Experience Vienna as the Viennese do. Go behind the scenes at the Konzerthaus. You'll discover one of Vienna's most important concert venues, the famous Konzerthaus. Inaugurated in 1913 by Emperor Franz Joseph, the Konzerthaus has since evolved from tradition and innovation to become one of the most popular venues for musical ensembles (a visit to the Konzerthaus may be replaced by a visit to the Musikverein, or the opera house in case of performances or unavailability). You'll then head off to one of the city's many cafés for a cup of Viennese coffee. You'll have to go back to imperial times to discover its origins. In harsh winters, carriage drivers used to drink hot coffee topped with whipped cream between each run, to keep them going. The “coachman's café” or “Einspänner” was later known outside Austria as the Viennese café.

The excursion to Frankfurt will begin with a panoramic bus tour of the city. Frankfurt am Main, the metropolis at the heart of Europe, fascinates with its clever mix of tradition and modernity, commerce and culture, activity and relaxation. Cosmopolitan... see+ Frankfurt owes its global status to its international trade fairs, such as the International Motor Show and the Book Fair, to business and cultural life, and to its privileged geographical location. It is also considered the financial capital of Germany, as its gigantic skyscrapers are home to the headquarters of numerous banks, which is why it is sometimes nicknamed "Bankfurt" or "Mainhattan." You will continue your tour of the old town by foot. You will pass by the Imperial Cathedral (exterior), which dominates the city center from the top of its 95-meter tower. You will also discover the heart of Frankfurt's old town and the Römerberg, which has a history dating back to the Hohenstaufen era. Originally, this square was simply called Berg (Mountain) or Samstagsberg (Saturday Mountain). The Römerberg has had its current name since the 15th century, when the city council bought the houses surrounding the square to build a new town hall. Ratisbon, known as Regensburg in German, reached its political and economic peak in the 12th and 13th centuries, when it was located at the crossroads of major trade routes and became a free imperial city in 1245, before being supplanted by other large... see+ Bavarian cities. The city has preserved its medieval center almost intact, as it was largely not touched by Allied bombing due to its low level of industrialization. Before heading to Regensburg, you will travel by bus with the ship's hostess to the Walhalla, an imposing Greek-style marble temple overlooking the Danube, built between 1830 and 1842 on the orders of Louis I of Bavaria, who wanted to make it a memorial to the great men who illustrated German civilization. Melk Abbey houses a museum where you will discover various exhibits that have been brought to life through architecture, sound and light, and the use of various media.
