Sailing to Heidelberg. Early in the morning, we'll be at the gateway to the Neckar.
Departure by... see+ coach for the optional excursion to Heidelberg. Meet our guides at the castle, and discover the exterior of this magnificent, partly ruined pink sandstone castle. Since the end of the 18th century, the castle ruins have inspired painters and poets who saw them as a symbol of the greatness and decadence of human endeavors. Goethe, Hölderlin, Uhland and Eichendorff celebrated the castle landscape, while many painters chose it as their motif. Discover the geometric terraces of the Palatinate Garden, the "Hortus Palatinus", once considered the "eighth wonder of the world". Your guides will take you on a tour of the old town. Admire the exterior of the Church of the Holy Spirit, built between 1398 and 1441 and the burial place of the Prince Electors. Return to Heidelberg in the late morning.

Sailing on the Neckar to Eberbach, which we reach in the afternoon. Free time to explore the medieval town. Located in the Neckartal-Odenwald nature park, Eberbach was founded in the 13th century and has preserved a rich cultural past.

Morning navigation on the Neckar, one of the Rhine's most winding tributaries, offering bucolic... see+ landscapes. It winds its way through wooded hillsides and romantic towns. During the morning, a treasure hunt is organized on board (to be won: a five-day Rhine cruise for two).

Return on board for dinner.

Departure for the tour of Heidelberg. Romantic and idyllic, cosmopolitan and dynamic, mythical and modern: Heidelberg harmoniously combines all these elements that give it its unparalleled charm. Meet your guides at Heidelberg Castle, where they will show you... see+ around the exterior of this magnificent pink sandstone castle, now partially in ruins. Since the end of the 18th century, the castle ruins have inspired painters and poets, who saw them as a symbol of the grandeur and decadence of human works. Goethe, Hölderlin, Uhland, and Eichendorff celebrated the castle's landscape, while many painters chose it as their motif. Don't miss the barrel in the courtyard. It is one of the largest wooden barrels in the world and was once filled with wine. On the opposite wall, there is a pedestal with a statue representing the dwarf Perkeo. This hard-drinking South Tyrolean served as court jester and guardian of the barrel under Charles III Philip of the Palatinate (1716-1742). Discover the geometric terraces of the Palatinate garden, the "Hortus Palatinus," once considered the "eighth wonder of the world." The garden's architect, Salomon de Caus, wanted to celebrate harmony with the city, the river, and the surrounding hills. Transfer by coach to Neckarmünzplatz, an important square in the historic center of Heidelberg, located directly on the side of the boat of the Neckar River, below the castle. You will continue with your guides on a tour of the old town. You will admire the Church of the Holy Spirit (exterior), built between 1398 and 1441, the burial place of the prince-electors, whose naves housed the "Bibliotheca Palatina" until 1623. You will also have free time to do some shopping on Germany's longest shopping street.
