Morning sailing on the Romantic Rhine to the famous Loreley Rock. The river path winds along a... see+ route dominated by theatrical ruins, hillside vineyards and majestic fortresses. Arrival in Rüdesheim in the early afternoon.
Optional excursion: Rüdesheim and the Museum of Mechanical Musical Instruments. Departure by small train to the “Siegfrieds Mechanisches Musikkabinett” museum (subject to weather conditions at time of visit), Germany's first museum dedicated to musical instruments with memory. From the gentle music box to the titanic concert-piano orchestrion, no fewer than 350 automatic instruments have been brought together to form one of the largest and most beautiful collections from the 18th to the 20th century, displayed over an area of more than 400 m². Free time in the picturesque city streets. The famous Drosselgasse awaits you with its guinguettes and orchestras. Evening in a Rüdesheim guinguette, with the famous “Rüdesheimer Kaffee” prepared and flambéed at your table.

Early morning arrival in Mannheim. Optional excursion: Heidelberg. Departure by coach for... see+ Heidelberg, the symbol of German Romanticism. Meet your guides at Heidelberg Castle, where you'll discover the exterior of this magnificent, partly ruined pink sandstone castle. Since the end of the 18th century, the castle ruins have inspired painters and poets who saw them as a symbol of the greatness and decadence of human endeavors. Goethe, Hölderlin, Uhland and Eichendorff celebrated the castle landscape, while many painters chose it as their motif. Discover the geometric terraces of the Palatinate Garden, the “Hortus Palatinus”, once considered the “eighth wonder of the world”. Your guides will take you on a tour of the old town. You'll admire the exterior of the Church of the Holy Spirit, built between 1398 and 1441 as the burial place of the prince-electors. During the excursion, the ship will sail to Speyer, where we'll join it.
Discover Speyer with the entertainment team. It's a pleasant walk from the banks of the Rhine to the city's historic center. Speyer is a former imperial city, whose imposing Romanesque cathedral is one of the major monuments to the art of the Holy Roman Empire.
Return on board. New Year's Eve dinner. Night sail to Strasbourg.

Excursion by small train and visit to the Mechanical Music Museum in Rüdesheim
Departure by tourist train through the picturesque streets of Rudesheim to Siegfried's Museum of Mechanical Musical Instruments, located in a beautiful historic 15th-century building close to Drosselgasse. Visit the famous "Siegfried's Mechanical Music... see+ Cabinet," which houses an impressive collection of mechanical musical instruments. No fewer than 350 automatic instruments are brought together here to form one of the largest and most beautiful collections from the 18th to the 20th century, displayed over more than 400 m². A pleasure for both the ears and the eyes, a real musical adventure. Thanks to these instruments, three centuries of knowledge have been preserved. From small music boxes to titanic concert-piano orchestrions, the collection contains instruments of the greatest diversity. You can also admire the tools and machines used to manufacture organ cylinders, cardboard and music rollers, and music box plates. Visitors of all ages will enjoy discovering this unique music, the techniques of yesteryear, and how these instruments work. After the tour, enjoy some free time in Rüdesheim. Walk down Drosselgasse to reach the boat. NOTES Wear comfortable walking shoes. The streets are paved. The order of visits may be changed. Times are given as a guide only.

Departure for the tour of Heidelberg. Romantic and idyllic, cosmopolitan and dynamic, mythical and modern: Heidelberg harmoniously combines all these elements that give it its unparalleled charm. Meet your guides at Heidelberg Castle, where they will show you... see+ around the exterior of this magnificent pink sandstone castle, now partially in ruins. Since the end of the 18th century, the castle ruins have inspired painters and poets, who saw them as a symbol of the grandeur and decadence of human works. Goethe, Hölderlin, Uhland, and Eichendorff celebrated the castle's landscape, while many painters chose it as their motif. Don't miss the barrel in the courtyard. It is one of the largest wooden barrels in the world and was once filled with wine. On the opposite wall, there is a pedestal with a statue representing the dwarf Perkeo. This hard-drinking South Tyrolean served as court jester and guardian of the barrel under Charles III Philip of the Palatinate (1716-1742). Discover the geometric terraces of the Palatinate garden, the "Hortus Palatinus," once considered the "eighth wonder of the world." The garden's architect, Salomon de Caus, wanted to celebrate harmony with the city, the river, and the surrounding hills. Transfer by coach to Neckarmünzplatz, an important square in the historic center of Heidelberg, located directly on the side of the boat of the Neckar River, below the castle. You will continue with your guides on a tour of the old town. You will admire the Church of the Holy Spirit (exterior), built between 1398 and 1441, the burial place of the prince-electors, whose naves housed the "Bibliotheca Palatina" until 1623. You will also have free time to do some shopping on Germany's longest shopping street.
