The cruise... see+ then continues through the magnificent Wachau region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its picturesque landscapes, terraced vineyards, and charming villages nestled along the Danube. Several optional excursions are offered during this stage.
One of them leads to Maria Taferl, the most important pilgrimage site in Lower Austria. Located on the north bank of the Danube, this basilica, dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows, dominates the valley from its promontory. Built around an ancient Marian oratory, it is the origin of the name "Maria Taferl." According to tradition, miraculous healings have taken place here since 1633, followed by apparitions of angels reported over the years. After visiting the church, the panoramic view of the Nibelungengau region is splendid. Back in Ybbs, the tour continues with a visit to the former navigation master's house, which now houses the Atelier an der Donau art gallery, showcasing works by artists from around the world. Visitors can even try out the printing press before ending with a stroll through the picturesque alleys of the old town, which bear witness to Ybbs' rich past.

Depending on weather conditions, a visit to the lock area reveals fascinating details about the passage process and the role of the operators.
Finally, an optional excursion offers a trip to the Prater, Vienna's famous amusement park in the second district. Its emblem, the Ferris wheel, offers spectacular views of the city and a moment of pure wonder as you take in the panorama of the Danube metropolis.
