Activities

In antiquity, Delos was considered the spiritual and commercial center of the Aegean. After a short ferry/tender ride, disembark on the island and gather for an introduction before proceeding with your lecturer guide on a unique walk through the original... see+ streets of the site's best-preserved quarters.
There you will see Hellenistic houses with beautifully preserved mosaics. Further along, you’ll reach the Sanctuary, where ruins of a temple dedicated to Apollo can be seen – Delos being Apollo’s mythological birthplace – and along the Sacred Way, the famous five 7th-century B.C. marble lions, guardians of the Sacred Lake.
Continue to the Theatre and Roman quarter, where you will find ancient statues dedicated to Dionysus, and optionally visit the museum with its fascinating exhibits (currently under renovation).
Delos is one of the most important UNESCO World Heritage sites!

Not included $105 / pers.
Disembark by tender and board the cable car* to reach the island's capital Fira for a guided walk through the narrow pedestrian streets. Board the bus for a pleasant drive through the countryside passing the village of Pyrgos to the famous archaeological site... see+ of Akrotiri.
If Santorini is known as the Greek Pompeii, it is because of ancient Akrotiri – an ancient town frozen in time by ash from an eruption some 3,600 years ago. Sophisticated buildings and frescoes are signs of a refined civilization.
Continue by bus to the northern coast admiring the views of land, sea, and sky to reach Oia, Santorini’s most picturesque village with magical views over the Caldera. Your local guide will take you to the most photographed blue domes, scenic spots, and share tips for your free time. A short drive returns you to Fira.
Note: Depending on cruise traffic or conditions, the cable car may be replaced by a transfer from Athinios port to Fira.
A minimum of 14 guests is required for tour operation.

Not included $140 / pers.
After about an hour’s drive east along the coast and through areas where Cretan wines are produced, we arrive at the prehistoric Minoan Palace of Knossos (2000 BC) to visit the archaeological site, set in a uniquely picturesque landscape.
The palace is a... see+ monumental symbol of Minoan civilization, thanks to its impressive size and construction. It was excavated and partially restored in the early 20th century by the renowned English archaeologist Sir Arthur Evans. Was it the palace of the mythical King Minos, containing the labyrinth where the fearsome Minotaur was said to dwell?...
After our in-depth visit, we will drive to the greater Heraklion area to sample healthy local delicacies at a traditional Cretan taverna. There will be some free time before we return to Rethymno.

Not included $180 / pers.
A short drive through a gorge brings us to the Late Minoan cemetery of Armeni, located at the edge of an oak forest, featuring over 220 rock-cut chamber tombs with dromos.
After a brief visit, we’ll cross the Rethymno region southward to reach Spili, the... see+ green heart of the district, where healthy spring water flows from a charming fountain. Stroll the alleys, visit the local folklore museum, enjoy a Greek coffee, and shop for Cretan herbs and local goods.
Driving through the stunning Kourtaliotiko Gorge and along the mountain slopes, we’ll stop at one of the last remaining Byzantine stone bridges on Crete, beautifully located by the Megas Potamos river.
We then reach Damnoni Beach, one of the finest beaches on the southern coast of Rethymno. Here, you’ll have time to swim in the crystal-clear turquoise waters of the Libyan Sea, or, if you prefer, enjoy lunch at a traditional Cretan taverna (not included).
After lunch, we’ll ascend again into the mountains, passing through another impressive gorge before returning via scenic routes to the fertile heart of Rethymno district, ending with free time in the picturesque Old Town of Rethymno.

Not included $98 / pers.
A short drive through the fertile countryside of Argolis takes us to the ancient city of Mycenae, home to the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon.
The importance of this city, described by Homer as "rich in gold", began around 1650 B.C. and ended around 1100 B.C.,... see+ with the fall of the civilization that bears its name.
We’ll visit the remains of this glorious city: the Lion’s Gate, the Palace, and the Tomb of Agamemnon.
In legend, Mycenae was the royal seat of the ill-fated House of Atreus, and from here, Agamemnon, “king of men”, led the Achaean campaign against Troy.
Mycenae was a major centre of Greek civilization between 1600 and 1100 B.C. and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The tour ends with a short guided walk through the historic center of Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece, with its towering castle walls, old houses, and picturesque alleys.

Not included $105 / pers.
