Civitavecchia Ponza
Civitavecchia is the port of Rome. But make the most of the day before you set sail to visit the... see+ Eternal City: St. Peter's, with its breathtaking Sistine Chapel, recently restored to its former glory; the famous Spanish Steps, through which all Romans passed; the Colosseum, where gladiators fought to the death; and the Pantheon, considered the most perfect architectural expression of all time.

Sorrento Taormina
Sorrento, whose city walls rise straight out of the sea, is located on the lovely Amalfi Coast and... see+ overlooks the Bay of Naples. Optional excursions might include taking a trip back in history to Pompeii, where the ashen remains of ancient Romans lie frozen in time.

Taormina Italy - At sea
After crossing the narrow Strait of Messina under full sail, past Scylla and Charybdis, where rocks... see+ and whirlpools almost cost Ulysses his life, you arrive in the charming town of Taormina.
