Glasgow
Boarding from 16:00 to 17:00
Departure at 18:00

In the heart of the Clyde Valley, the bustling... see+ city of Glasgow contrasts with the wild beauty of the surrounding countryside. Scotland's most urban of cities boasts a rich artistic and architectural heritage. The city's checkerboard layout makes it easy to stroll along its pedestrian streets, admire the collections in its many museums and art galleries and take in the sights and sounds of its Victorian monuments. The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is exemplary in this respect. You can round off your tour with a bit of... Because, yes, Glasgow is also the temple of shopping!

Glasgow Iona
Of all the islands in the Inner Hebrides, Iona is by far the most conducive to meditation. And with... see+ good reason... It was here, in this sacred land, that St. Columba set out to evangelize Scotland, arriving from Ireland around 563. Today, an abbey, the spiritual center of the island, stands on the site of the former monastery founded by the Irish missionary. Many Scottish kings, including the legendary Macbeth, are said to be buried in the nearby cemetery. If the sun is shining, arrival on the island of Iona is a sight to behold.

Iona Callanish
In the Hebrides, on the legendary Scottish Isle of Lewis, Calanais dazzles and surprises,... see+ fascinates and questions. On the east coast of the island, where land and sea meet and clash in the tumult of the wilderness, the megalithic site of Calanais is waiting to be discovered. No fewer than 51 stones stand amidst the peat. Deliberately placed around 5,000 years ago, they are a mysterious testimony to the Stone Age. Whether as a place of devotion, a lunar calendar, an astronomical observatory or a healing center, there are many theories as to the function of these stones, but the enigma remains. The singular ambience of this place lends itself to all kinds of interpretations, all kinds of dreams and reveries.

Callanish Broch of Mousa
A conical dry-stone tower dating from the late Iron Age, the Broch de Mousa is one of the many... see+ buildings constructed in the Highlands and the Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland archipelagos to defend against invaders. Built around 100 BC, it is the tallest (13 metres) and best-preserved existing broch in Europe. Its excellent state of preservation is due in part to its isolation and massive appearance: it has only one entrance, thick walls and a smaller diameter than other brochs. The building has been used over the centuries and is mentioned in the Scandinavian sagas of Egill, son of Grímr the Bald, and the Orkneyinga.

Offshore - United Kingdom Reine Trollfjorden
Beyond the Arctic Circle, the mysterious Lofoten Islands are considered a world apart. A jewel of... see+ untamed nature, this archipelago with its jagged coastline offers majestic scenery of alpine peaks, fine sandy beaches, lush green meadows and deep-blue fjords, home to countless colonies of nesting birds.

Legend has it that trolls are the guardians of this 2 km-long fjord, accessible via the Strait of Raftsund between the Vesterålen archipelago and the Lofoten Islands. Overhung on both sides by vertical walls that can exceed 1,000 metres in height, Trollfjorden welcomes you into a fairytale atmosphere. Its narrowness is not without reason. During this unforgettable cruise, you'll feel as if you're skimming past the surrounding mountains, never to see the end of this marine cul-de-sac. After a tricky U-turn, your ship will finally head back in the opposite direction: this could be your chance to spot seals and eagles, which are often seen on this unique site.

Trollfjorden Tromso
North of the Arctic Circle lies Tromsø, in the county of Troms. Norwegians call it “the Paris of... see+ the North”. You'll quickly understand why when you discover its extensive neoclassical architectural heritage. A striking example is the Arctic Cathedral, a major edifice whose sleek style refers to the shapes of the mountains that surround the city.

Tromso At sea - Bjornoya
Halfway between Norway and Spitsbergen, you'll sail close to the coast of Bjørnøya, the... see+ southernmost island of Svalbard. From your ship, observe this isolated piece of land discovered in 1596 by the Dutch navigator Willem Barents, then in search of the Northwest Passage. After a fierce fight between a polar bear and the members of the expedition, he nicknamed the place Bear Island. Regularly covered by a thick layer of fog, Bjørnøya is home to a weather station set up in 1923, which is still in operation. Listed as a nature reserve since 2002, the island is home to a huge colony of seabirds: jaegers, guillemots, puffins, kittiwakes, petrels, gulls and dovekies all live here.

At sea - Bjornoya Spitsbergen
Nestled at the southeastern tip of Spitsbergen Island, this small bay is home to the Vasil'evbreen... see+ glacier, a huge glacier whose front extends for more than 20 kilometers. An unforgettable Zodiac® ride. Conditions permitting, you can disembark directly at the foot of this majestic glacier, to discover the moraine and walk on the first sections of the glacier. Depending on ice conditions, you may also be lucky enough to approach the Stellingfjellet, home to one of the archipelago's largest colonies of guillemots.

Spitsbergen Hornsund
Nestled between millennia-old glaciers and carved mountains, Spitsbergen is considered “the crown... see+ of Arctic Norway”, a place that never knows night. During your cruise, you'll get closer to this fascinating island, and more specifically to the Hornsund fjord. Considered the most southerly of the Svalbard archipelago's fjords, it is best known for being the most beautiful. At the end of its immense bay, eight great glaciers descend slowly to the sea before giving way to numerous icebergs, drifting elegantly on its cold, mysterious waters.

Dinner
Hornsund Bellsund
You'll head for the Bellsund fjord, to follow in the footsteps of the first explorers from the... see+ Norwegian coast, or those of the many trappers in search of game and trophies. Surprisingly rich in wildlife, the arms of the fjord separate to form two verdant valleys. Let your imagination run wild in this majestic natural setting, where time seems to stand still.

Bellsund Isfjorden
The immense Isfjorden is one of Svalbard's main fjords. Its various branches reach the heart of the... see+ island of Spitsbergen. The Nordenskiöld glacier, with its almost 5 km-wide ice front, is one of the most spectacular in the Svalbard archipelago. You may also have the opportunity to discover the ghost town of Pyramiden. Built at the foot of a pyramid-shaped mountain, this mining town was founded by Sweden in the early 20th century, sold to the Soviet Union a few years later and abandoned in 1998, but still retains all the buildings from its coal-mining days.
