Your expedition cruise begins in Dover. If you have time before boarding the ship, take a walk... see+ along the famous white cliffs of St Margaret’s Bay. Here, you can enjoy stunning views of the coastline and the sparkling English Channel below.

Once you have received your expedition jacket and settled into your cabin, you’ll meet the members of your expedition team. These warm hosts and exceptional guides will accompany you throughout your journey. It will then be time to head to your table for your first dinner aboard, marking the beginning of your adventure.

Harlingen
On the shores of the Wadden Sea, Harlingen is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site and is home to... see+ the last traditional pottery in the Netherlands.

A city of canals and charming harbors, you can explore it on foot or by bike, and if conditions permit, we can venture out on the water to explore the canals aboard our small expedition boats.

You will discover traditional sailing boats and historic warehouses around the old ports of Noorderhaven and Zuiderhaven. Don’t miss the Harlinger Aardewerk Museum, where you can admire exhibits of typical Frisian pottery.

Harlingen Helgoland
Just a stone's throw from Germany, the small island of Helgoland was once a pirate’s lair and a... see+ strategic point for a number of warring nations. Today, this peaceful, car-free island is better known for its stunning nature and, at certain times of the year, its avian wildlife.

If conditions permit, local boats will take us ashore to explore the two distinctive islands of Helgoland. On one island, you can walk along the picturesque trails atop the red cliffs to observe nesting birds, such as gannets and black guillemots. On the other island, you can stroll along the fine, white sandy beaches bordered by dunes in search of seals basking on the shores.

We arrive in Hamburg, Germany’s second-largest city and one of the greenest urban areas in... see+ Europe.

There is much to see and do in Hamburg, often called the "Venice of the North" due to its picturesque canals between Lake Alster and the Elbe River. You can explore many attractions in the Altstadt (old town) district, such as the Saint Nicholas Memorial Church and the historic Deichstraße street. Hamburg is also home to UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Chilehaus and the world's largest historic warehouse complex, "Speicherstadt." Take a guided tour or explore the city at your own pace.

Hambourg Esbjerg
The first stop on our journey to the Arctic is Esbjerg, on the west coast of the Jutland Peninsula... see+ in Denmark. As you approach the city, keep an eye out for the giant statues of "Man Meets the Sea" on the shore.

Esbjerg is a blend of historic charm and modern Scandinavian chic, and it’s easy to explore on foot. A shuttle will take you into the city center, where you can visit at your leisure. Why not treat yourself to a typical smørrebrød for lunch? The famous Danish open-faced sandwiches on rye bread are waiting for you in the windows of many bakeries.

After lunch, it’s time to say goodbye to Denmark and set course for Norway. Take advantage of a leisurely afternoon at sea to make the most of your ship’s amenities. Why not relax in the hot tubs or enjoy the scenery from the Explorer Lounge & Bar?

Esbjerg Haugesung
Upon arriving in Norway, we will head towards the Haugesund region. Known for its Viking heritage,... see+ this is where King Harald Fairhair united Norway into one kingdom. From this royal seat, the kings of Norway long controlled the famous maritime route, Nordvegen, or the "way of the north," which gave the country its name.

Today, this Viking past is preserved in the many historical sites of the region. If conditions permit, we will visit a reconstructed Viking village on the small island of Bukkøya. In Karmøy, not far from there, you can immerse yourself in Norway's maritime and Viking history at the Nordvegen History Centre.

Haugesung Sognefjord
In the morning, we plan to venture into Norway's longest and deepest fjord, the Sognefjord, and... see+ sail to the small village of Fjærland. This idyllic village, with its charming old buildings and traditional weaving, is home to just 300 people. It is also where the Sognefjord meets the Jostedal Glacier, the largest glacier on the European continent.

The day includes a visit to the Norwegian Glacier Museum. There, you will learn why glacier ice is blue and how the fjords were formed. You will even have the opportunity to conduct experiments with ice from a thousand-year-old glacier and watch a panoramic film about Europe's largest glacier.

Sognefjord Andalsnes
Nestled at the end of the Romsdalsfjord, the town of Åndalsnes is surrounded by dizzying... see+ mountains, deep valleys, and spectacular fjords. The landscape around this alpine-style town is simply breathtaking.

For a truly stunning view, take the cable car from the city center for a five-minute scenic ride up to Mount Nesaksla, about 700 meters above sea level. From there, you'll enjoy a 360-degree view of the town and, further afield, the towering Romsdalshorn and Venjetinden mountains.

To fully immerse yourself in this incredible landscape, join us for an exhilarating hike, or if conditions allow, enjoy a peaceful kayaking trip in the fjord.

As you sail towards the wild beauty of the Lofoten Archipelago, enjoy a day at sea.

Continue... see+ your exploration onboard with your expedition team by attending a lecture or workshop to deepen your knowledge at the scientific center. Relax in the panoramic Explorer Lounge & Bar, and as the ship sails along Helgeland, keep an eye out for the silhouette of the Seven Sisters mountain range. This impressive coastal range is home to Mount Torghatten, recognizable by its characteristic central hole.

Later in the day, we will cross the Arctic Circle and venture further north into the Arctic.

Approaching the steep mountains of the Lofoten Islands by boat is an unforgettable experience. Set in a majestic landscape, this small cosmopolitan town has a fascinating history and many... see+ intriguing sites to discover.

It has served as the base for many historic expeditions to the Arctic, including those of Roald Amundsen, and its location 400 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle has earned it the nickname "Gateway to the Arctic." At the Polar Museum, you will learn about the city's exploration heritage, and you can visit the Arctic Cathedral, which, with its massive stained glass window, is one of Tromsø's most impressive landmarks. You can also take the Fjellheisen cable car to the top of Storsteinen for a breathtaking view.

The captain and the expedition team will choose the best sites and activities depending on the... see+ conditions of the day. We may head towards the snow-covered peaks of Hornsund or visit Ny-Ålesund, the starting point for Roald Amundsen’s expeditions northwards with the airship 'Norge.' Today, it is an international centre for scientific and climate research but still retains remnants of its past.

If luck is on our side, we might even spot the elusive polar bear in its natural habitat, so keep your binoculars close at hand!

Harlingen - Crossing the Old Port in a RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat)
Harlingen is a charming historic port town full of monuments and old buildings that have stood the test of time. Most of these are located near the old ports and along the canals, and a scenic cruise is the ideal way to introduce Harlingen’s maritime... see+ heritage to its new visitors.
Our expedition boat trip will depart from the ship. We will then head into the inland waters of Harlingen, enjoying the view of the magnificent buildings lining the old ports of Noorderhaven and Zuiderhaven, including some old warehouses and the splendid neo-Gothic Church of St. Michael. At the end of our crossing, we will disembark in the Old Town, where you will have time to explore at your own pace before walking back to the ship.

This tour takes you to the island of Karmøy and into the ancient landscapes of Avaldnes, home of the Viking kings and the cradle of Norway.
The first settlements of this historic village date back to the early Bronze Age. Dive into the rich history of the region at the Nordvegen history center, and on the nearby small island of Bukkøy, discover Viking farmers, fishermen, craftsmen, and merchants in a reconstructed Viking farm.

The landscape of Norway is shaped by its characteristic fjords and glaciers. During this excursion, you will have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of these glaciers and discover one in particular.

Enjoy a spectacular 5-minute cable car ride from the fjord to the summit of Mount Nesaksla. Rising about 700 meters above sea level, the Romsdal cable car is the longest cable car in Norway, offering panoramic views of a dozen renowned mountain peaks.
Upon... see+ reaching the summit, soak in the views and mountain atmosphere from various viewpoints before the cable car takes you back to the town center of Åndalsnes.

Often referred to as the "Gateway to the Arctic" at the end of the 19th century, Tromsø became a starting point for many polar expeditions. The Polar Museum preserves and shares stories related to this aspect of Tromsø’s history and the Arctic.

Far beyond the Arctic Circle, at the northern tip of Europe, lies the North Cape. Your excursion to the cape begins with a scenic coach journey from Honningsvåg, taking you to the mountain plateau through small bays and tiny hamlets.
In summer, you might... see+ see herds of reindeer grazing. In winter, the snow stretches as far as the eye can see, covering plains and peaks, and you might very well follow the snowplow.
In all seasons, arriving at this impressive plateau overlooking the Arctic Ocean from a height of 300 meters is an unforgettable experience.

Explore the small natural archipelago of Heligoland, renowned for its red sandstone cliffs, Lange Anna stack, and abundant wildlife.

Join us for a four-hour, guided sightseeing tour through Germany’s cosmopolitan city of Hamburg.

As you explore the city, you’ll discover Hamburg old and new seeing sights such as the modern HafenCity waterfront development and the adjacent... see+ Speicherstadt, the city’s historic warehouse quarter. You’ll also visit the striking Baroque St Michael’s Church with its distinctive landmark spire. You’ll then have some free time to wander the Jungfernstieg shopping area, situated next to the 19th-century City Hall and Germany's oldest stock exchange.
