Your expedition cruise begins in Dover. If you have time before boarding the ship, take a walk... see+ along the famous white cliffs of St Margaret’s Bay. You'll enjoy breathtaking views of the coastline and the shimmering English Channel below.

Once you’ve collected your expedition jacket and settled into your cabin, you can meet the members of your expedition team. These warm hosts and outstanding guides will accompany you throughout your journey. Then, it will be time to head to your table and enjoy your first dinner on board, marking the start of your adventure.

On the shores of the Wadden Sea, Harlingen is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the last... see+ traditional pottery in the Netherlands.

A city of canals and charming ports, you can explore it on foot or by bike. If conditions permit, we may take to the water to explore the canals aboard our small expedition boats.

You’ll discover traditional sailing ships and historic warehouses around the old ports of Noorderhaven and Zuiderhaven. Don’t miss the Harlinger Aardewerk Museum, where you can admire exhibits of typical Frisian pottery.

Harlingen Helgoland
Close to Germany, the small island of Heligoland was once a haven for pirates and a strategic prize... see+ for warring nations. Today, this peaceful, car-free island is better known for its stunning nature and, at certain times of the year, its birdlife.

If conditions allow, local boats will take us ashore to explore Heligoland's two distinct islands. On one island, you can walk along picturesque trails by the red cliffs to observe nesting birds such as northern gannets and common murres. On the other, you can stroll along fine white sandy beaches bordered by dunes, keeping an eye out for seals basking on the shores.

We arrive in Hamburg, Germany's second-largest city and one of the greenest urban areas in... see+ Europe.

There is plenty to see and do in Hamburg, nicknamed the "Venice of the North" for its picturesque canals between Lake Alster and the River Elbe. In the Altstadt, the old town, you can explore attractions like St. Nicholas Memorial Church and the historic Deichstraße. Hamburg is also home to UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Chilehaus and the world’s largest historic warehouse complex, the "Speicherstadt." Join a guided tour or explore the city at your own pace.

Hambourg Esbjerg
The first stop on our journey to the Arctic is Esbjerg, on the west coast of the Jutland Peninsula... see+ in Denmark. As you approach the city, look out for the giant "Man Meets the Sea" statues on the shore.

Esbjerg is a blend of historic charm and modern Scandinavian style, and it’s easy to explore on foot. A shuttle will take you to the city center, where you can explore at your leisure. Why not treat yourself to a typical smørrebrød for lunch? These famous Danish open-faced rye bread sandwiches are on display in many bakery windows.

After lunch, it’s time to bid farewell to Denmark and set sail for Norway. Take advantage of the afternoon at sea to enjoy the amenities on your ship. Why not relax in the hot tubs or watch the scenery pass by from the Explorer Lounge & Bar?

Esbjerg Haugesung
Upon arriving in Norway, we will head to the Haugesund region. Known for its Viking heritage, this... see+ is where King Harald Fairhair united Norway into a single kingdom. From this royal seat, Norwegian kings long controlled the famous Nordvegen sea route, or "way of the north," which gave the country its name.

Today, this Viking legacy lives on in the region's many historical sites. If conditions allow, we will visit a reconstructed Viking village on the small island of Bukkøya. Nearby in Karmøy, you can delve into Norway’s maritime and Viking history at the Nordvegen History Centre.

Haugesung Sognefjord
In the morning, we plan to venture into Norway's longest and deepest fjord, the Sognefjord, and... see+ sail to the small hamlet of Fjærland. This idyllic village, with its charming old buildings and traditional weaving, is home to just 300 inhabitants. It is also where the Sognefjord meets the Jostedal Glacier, the largest glacier on the European mainland.

The day includes a visit to the Norwegian Glacier Museum. Here, you’ll learn why glacier ice is blue and how fjords were formed. You’ll even have the chance to conduct some experiments with ice from a millennia-old glacier and watch a panoramic film about Europe’s largest glacier.

Sognefjord Andalsnes
Nestled at the end of the Romsdalsfjord, the town of Åndalsnes is surrounded by towering... see+ mountains, deep valleys, and spectacular fjords. The landscape around this alpine-style town is simply breathtaking.

For stunning views, take the cable car from the town center for a five-minute panoramic ride to Mount Nesaksla, about 700 meters above sea level. Here, you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the town and the imposing mountains of Romsdalshorn and Venjetinden.

To truly immerse yourself in this incredible scenery, join us for an exhilarating hike or, if conditions allow, enjoy a peaceful kayak ride on the fjord.

As we sail toward the untamed beauty of the Lofoten Archipelago, enjoy a day at sea.

Continue... see+ your onboard discovery with your expedition team by attending a lecture or workshop, and deepen your knowledge by visiting the science center. Relax in the panoramic Explorer Lounge & Bar, and as the ship cruises along Helgeland, watch for the silhouette of the Seven Sisters mountain range. This impressive coastal chain is home to Mount Torghatten, known for its characteristic central hole.

Later in the day, we will cross the Arctic Circle to venture further north into the Arctic.

Watch for sea eagles as you marvel at the exceptional beauty of this coastline.

Today, we’ll explore the famous Lofoten Islands from the fishing port of Svolvær. Learn how the rugged landscapes and fishing history have shaped life in the Lofoten, or take a closer look at the stunning surroundings on a hike with your expedition team.

Situated in a majestic landscape, this small cosmopolitan town boasts a fascinating history and... see+ numerous intriguing sites to explore.

It served as a base for many historic Arctic expeditions, including those of Roald Amundsen, and its location 400 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle earned it the nickname "Gateway to the Arctic." At the Polar Museum, you can learn about the town's exploration heritage, and visit the Arctic Cathedral, whose massive stained glass window makes it one of Tromsø's most striking landmarks. You can also take the Fjellheisen cable car to the top of Storsteinen for breathtaking views.

Spitsbergen, the largest island of Svalbard, embodies Arctic beauty in its most pristine form: wild... see+ stretches of steep mountains, desolate glaciers, and mysterious islands off the coast. Over the next three days, you’ll visit some of the world’s most spectacular fjords and glaciers calving icebergs into the sea.

Each day will be unique. Landings, kayaking trips—be ready for anything! The captain and the expedition team will select the best sites and activities based on the day’s conditions.

Activities

Harlingen is a charming historic port town full of monuments and old buildings that have stood the test of time. Most of these are located near the old ports and along the canals, and a scenic cruise is the ideal way to introduce Harlingen’s maritime... see+ heritage to its new visitors.
Our expedition boat trip will depart from the ship. We will then head into the inland waters of Harlingen, enjoying the view of the magnificent buildings lining the old ports of Noorderhaven and Zuiderhaven, including some old warehouses and the splendid neo-Gothic Church of St. Michael. At the end of our crossing, we will disembark in the Old Town, where you will have time to explore at your own pace before walking back to the ship.

The first settlements of this historic village date back to the early Bronze Age. Its strategic location has long... see+ given it crucial importance, as it controlled the ships along the "Nordvegen," the sea route that gave Norway its name. Dive into the rich history of the region at the Nordvegen history center, and on the nearby small island of Bukkøy, discover Viking farmers, fishermen, craftsmen, and merchants in a reconstructed Viking farm.

The landscape of Norway is shaped by its characteristic fjords and glaciers. During this excursion, you will have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of these glaciers and discover one in particular.
The excursion begins at the source of one of the... see+ branches of the Jostedalsbreen glacier, the largest in continental Europe.

You will then visit the award-winning Norwegian Glacier Museum and an information center for the Jostedalsbreen National Park. The museum visit will begin with a short presentation. You can then explore this interactive and educational museum at your own pace.

Enjoy a spectacular 5-minute cable car ride from the fjord to the summit of Mount Nesaksla. Rising about 700 meters above sea level, the Romsdal cable car is the longest cable car in Norway, offering panoramic views of a dozen renowned mountain peaks.

Often referred to as the "Gateway to the Arctic" at the end of the 19th century, Tromsø became a starting point for many polar expeditions. The Polar Museum preserves and shares stories related to this aspect of Tromsø’s history and the Arctic.
The... see+ museum's permanent exhibitions are dedicated to seal hunting, wintering, trapping, the history of famous trappers such as Henry Rudi and Wanny Wolstad, and the expeditions of Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen.

Far beyond the Arctic Circle, at the northern tip of Europe, lies the North Cape. Your excursion to the cape begins with a scenic coach journey from Honningsvåg, taking you to the mountain plateau through small bays and tiny hamlets.
In summer, you might... see+ see herds of reindeer grazing. In winter, the snow stretches as far as the eye can see, covering plains and peaks, and you might very well follow the snowplow.
In all seasons, arriving at this impressive plateau overlooking the Arctic Ocean from a height of 300 meters is an unforgettable experience.

As you explore the city, you’ll discover Hamburg old and new seeing sights such as the modern HafenCity waterfront development and the adjacent... see+ Speicherstadt, the city’s historic warehouse quarter. You’ll also visit the striking Baroque St Michael’s Church with its distinctive landmark spire. You’ll then have some free time to wander the Jungfernstieg shopping area, situated next to the 19th-century City Hall and Germany's oldest stock exchange.
