Glasgow Iona Lunga
Of all the islands in the Inner Hebrides, Iona is by far the most conducive to meditation. And with... see+ good reason... It was here, in this sacred land, that St. Columba set out to evangelize Scotland, arriving from Ireland around 563. Today, an abbey, the spiritual center of the island, stands on the site of the former monastery founded by the Irish missionary. Many Scottish kings, including the legendary Macbeth, are said to be buried in the nearby cemetery. If the sun is shining, arrival on the island of Iona is a sight to behold.
Off the Isle of Mull in western Scotland, the Treshnish Islands form a small archipelago of seven islands of volcanic origin, belonging to the Inner Hebrides. Basalt cliffs and rocky coves shape the contours of the largest, Lunga, while the inland is carpeted with moorland. Inhabited until the 19th century, Lunga retains vestiges of black houses that can be seen on site. Classified as a special protection area, the island is now home to pelagic birds, including the puffin, and a large colony of seals. The island's rugged terrain and panoramic scenery will delight birdwatchers and nature lovers alike.

Lunga Loch Scavaig Canna
To the south of the Isle of Skye, Loch Scavaig, situated on the shortest river of the same name in... see+ Great Britain, reveals a landscape of great beauty: you can't fail to admire the reflection of the Cuillin Hills, granite hills carpeted with heather and shrouded in morning mist, on the waters of the loch. Perhaps you'll be lucky enough to spot a few harbor and gray seals lounging on the shore. Or why not try a hike to Loch Coruisk and its sublime panorama at the foot of Black Cuillin, which inspired many painters, including J. M. W. Turner.
The Hebrides archipelago boasts a wealth of natural treasures, including Canna, an unspoilt islet known as the “Garden of the Hebrides”. Skye Loch Ewe
Located in the north-western Highlands, Loch Ewe is an inlet surrounded by mountains overlooking... see+ the North Atlantic. Once a confluence of maritime trade, military ships gathered here during the Second World War to organize safe convoys to the Arctic. On its shore, the loch is home to a remarkable botanical garden, the Inverewe Garden, featuring several hundred tropical plants and species that thrive thanks to the Gulf Stream. Protected from strong winds by endemic pines, the garden, created in 1862 by landowner Osgood Mackenzie and his daughter, Mairi Sawyer, reveals unsuspected colors, shapes and fragrances. Today, it is managed by the National Trust for Scotland. You may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of some of Scotland's wild animals: red squirrel, red deer, otter, seal or golden eagle.
