Castellammare di Stabia, like many cities, is divided into two parts: the "old town" and the more recent city (which unfortunately is not very interesting). An Italian spa town, Castellammare di Stabia belongs to the province of Naples and the region of Campania. Formerly called Stabies, this town was once renowned for its thermal spas, and has been since Roman times. But the eruption of Mount Vesuvius buried the city in the year 79. During your stopover, don't miss a visit to the cathedral of Castellammare di Stabia and the Palazzo Farnese, which today houses the town hall.
Thermal springs and extravagant nature
