Sailboat Dufour 500 GL charter
The Dufour 500 GL model breathes new life into the Dufour shipyard's fleet. It also attracted a lot of attention at the 2012 autumn boat shows in Cannes and La Rochelle. The hull, the interior layout, the design and the deck plan have been revisited to create a sailing yacht that is not only more efficient, but also more comfortable than its predecessor, the Dufour 485.
Opting for a Dufour 500 GL yacht charter is indeed a wise choice, especially if you want to fully enjoy your long escape at sea. Designed by the Italian architect Umberto Felci, the wide bow hull has a pronounced bilge to reduce heeling over.
The cockpit is made up of three distinct parts, reminiscent of the Dufour 460 GL. A refit offering families the opportunity to fully enjoy their vacation at the side of the boat. An outdoor kitchen, integrated into the cockpit table, allows you to prepare a barbecue using the griddle concealed under the rear bench seat, above the wide bathing platform.
The fluid and convivial cockpit of the Dufour 500 GL has a helm station, two large bench seats and a folding cockpit table with storage space. Comfort and space are the order of the day on deck on the Dufour 500 GL! The deck layout has also been revised, enabling the 50-foot sailboat to be operated by a small crew. Manoeuvring is made easier by the halyards and the mainsail sheet being directed to two winches.
For the sake of comfort and space, the interior of the 500 Grand Large also seems to have undergone some modifications. Entering the modular living area, you find yourself in a particularly spacious and bright room. A space optimized in particular by the new layout of the kitchen. The L-shaped, fully equipped kitchen has been moved forward to occupy the entire width of the ship. This redesign gives you a very lounge-like space. The space will also be optimized thanks to the sliding chart table, offering passengers the opportunity to gather in a large, light-filled lounge.
The natural light in the Dufour 500 GL, enhanced by the large portholes and LED lighting, is reflected in a beautiful light wood finish, inspired by modern living. Several opening hatches also promote air circulation. The lounge area has large U-shaped armchairs and an adjustable table that can seat up to 12 people.
The owner's cabin at the front also offers enough space to quickly make you feel at home. There is plenty of storage space under the berth, which is accessible from the sides, and the hull portholes let in lots of light. Two identical cabins are located at the rear, close-hauled, measuring 2 meters long by 1.70 meters wide. They have several small open lockers and the formwork at the back has been modified to save you more space.
