Rent a Dufour sailboat
It was guided by his passion and love of sailing that naval architect Michel Dufour created the shipyard that bears his name in 1964. Having realized the incredible nautical potential of polyester as early as 1957, this native of La Rochelle did not hesitate to take enormous financial risks to rent a hangar, build the first model of the transportable sailboat « Sylphe » and launch his business thanks to an order book that eventually filled up thanks to his reputation. Thus, 410 copies of the Sylphe model were produced between 1964 and 1974. However, it was the solid and timeless Bermudian sloop « Arpège », launched in 1967, that became the emblem of the brand.Today, the company, renamed Dufour Yachts in 1988, is managed by Salvatore Serio and is one of the most well-known brands in the yachting sector. Its Grand Large, Exclusive and Performance ranges offer a whole range of boats with one hull capable of meeting the expectations of sailors, whatever their program. As a result, the shipyard continues to accumulate distinctions that crown the popularity of its units. The Dufour 405 Grand Large, for example, been voted "European Yacht of the Year 2010", while the Dufour 410 Grand Large won the "Boat of the Year 2014" trophy in Croatia. The conquest of the American market was also successful for the French shipyard based in Périgny (Charente-Maritime), as the the Dufour 500 Grand Large won the title of « Best Boat 2014 » awarded by Sail Magazine, as well as the « Best Full-Size Production Cruiser » prize awarded by Cruising World Magazine. And the following year, Rhodes Islande magazine once again honored the Dufour 560 Grand Large with the « Boat of the Year 2015 » award.
