Kawthaung, the southernmost city in Burma, is located at the mouth of the Kraburi River, on the border with Thailand. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to visit this country during your stay. Many Thais make the trip by ferry, armed with an identity booklet, while foreign tourists must pay for a visa. Kawthaung and its surroundings offer plenty to marvel at, including the town's small waterfall, the Maliwan hot springs and the Mergui Archipelago, made up of around 800 islands bathed by the Andaman Sea.
Pleasure boaters will be delighted to take a yacht charter from Kawthaung to explore these magnificent islands covered in jungle and dotted with beautiful white sandy beaches. Choose a good mooring point to observe the splendid seabed and to go underwater fishing or enjoy other nautical activities. You will have the chance to discover the daily life of the sea nomads in the Karen and Moken villages. On Thahtay Island, you will find the only international casino in the country in a holiday village. On your return to Kawthaung, you can visit the museum dedicated to Moken culture.
