Rent a Dehler sailboat
The Dehler shipyard is certainly one of the world's pioneers in the mass production of pleasure boats. Founded over half a century ago by brothers Willy and Heinz Dehler, this German brand has a wealth of experience and remains an international benchmark in terms of quality and creativity. A true prophetess of the yachting industry, she was the one who invented practical equipment such as the CWS (Central Winch System), the self-tacking jib and the Maindrop system. Its yachts are therefore outstanding in their versatility and meet all the criteria for comfort and performance sought by sailors the world over, as with the Dehler 29, Dehler 35SQ and Dehler 46.Ships that live up to every expectationDehler Yachts was founded in the 1960s by a man who quickly understood the impact of fiberglass in shipbuilding. It should be noted that at that time, in Germany, boats were built with traditional materials such as aluminum, laminated wood or steel. Willi Dehler began building small racing dinghies in 1963 in the workshops of a former cinema in Dortmund. The first vessel, named the Winnetou, was intended for his sailing club and for his family trips. Moored on Lake Constance during the Friedrichshafen Boat Show, the Winnetou quickly aroused the curiosity of enthusiasts. by the end of the event, Willi Dehler had received close to fifty orders until the end of the year. Dehler Yachts was then operating at full capacity and new employees were hired to build new Winnetou models. The workshops moved to a former dance hall. The following year, the shipyard focused on new, larger models to be designed by naval architect Ricus van de Stadt. These were to be unsinkable and stable enough for open sea navigation. The Optima 83, the Delanta 76, the Optima 92 and the Varianta 65 were produced one by one in the Dehler Yachts factories and were a great success. In 1966, with the help of his brother Heinz, Willi Dehler began building his very first fiberglass sailboat, which he named the Varianta. This 21-foot sailboat is recognizable by its removable roof, which quickly found a buyer. Close to 4,000 were built up until 1982. In the 1970s, Willi Dehler began manufacturing racing yachts such as the Dehler 34 and the Dehler 38, voted European Yacht of the Year in 2014 in the Performance Cruiser category.
