Rent a Jeanneau boat
Part of the Bénéteau group since 1995, Jeanneau is a key player in the pleasure boat market, whether motor or sailing. This French shipyard, headquartered in Les Herbiers, in the Vendée region, is particularly renowned for its Sun Odyssey, Sun Fast and Jeanneau Yachts series of sailboats, but also owes its fame to its Cap Camarat, NC, Merry Fisher, Leader, Prestige and Velasco ranges of motor yachts. The history of this Vendéen shipbuilder began in 1957, when its founder Henri Jeanneau set about making a wooden hull with a view to participating in the 6 heures motonautiques de Paris organized by the Yacht Moteur Club de France. And it was the enthusiasm generated by this endurance race that motivated him to create his own boatyard. As early as 1958, Jeanneau was already following the trend in nautical technology and producing fiberglass-polyester resin hulls that would boost the mass production of yachts. Its first 100% polyester boats, the « Mirage », were launched in 1961 and were followed by the Sea Bird (1963), Alizé (1964), Sangria (1969) and Love Love (1970). A true icon of the 70s, the Sandria designed by Philippe Harlé was phenomenally successful, with around 3000 boats launched between 1969 and 1982. And he was not the only one to pitch in. In addition to the recent ranges mentioned above, the Flirt (1976) and Sun Kiss (1983) sailboats, the Lagoon (1985) multihulls, and the luxurious Prestige (1989) motor yachts have also contributed to the brand's leadership in the pleasure boating sector. It should also be emphasized that the shipyard was the official supplier of the Tour de France à la Voile for 17 consecutive seasons, with the Rush (1982-1983), Sélection (1984-1991) and Jeanneau One Design (1992-1998)
